O Pescador — Restaurant in Sintra

23rd April 2023 visit...

We visited one afternoon and tried to order French fries which we could see being delivered to others. We were told they didn't do them. We still don't understand why as others received them after we had tried to order.

The lady behind the bar ignored us repeatedly despite our best efforts. Extremely rude. We were then overcharged with 2 orange juice on the bill that we didn't have. We tried to point it out, and when she eventually paid attention to us, she just shrugged and moved on. We had to directly ask for a refund, which she took from the till and handed to us without any apology or acknowledgement.

Such a shame because it's a beautiful place. Absolutely appalling service...

It used to be may favourite place at Praia Grande. Unfortunately the owners have stopped investing in upkeep and customer service some years ago. The paint is faded, furniture worn and the place is simply dirty. Customers are not warmly greeted when entering, sometimes it is ordering at the counter , sometimes there is a single waiter that is not able to keep up with the tasks. Location and view are still spectacular from the tables...

I double dare anyone to go to the toilet there before eating and then to consider whether they want to stay. Then ask why they even lock the doors for which they give you the key on a bit of plastic pipe. Those bathrooms should be demolished at the very least. It looks like something out of a horror movie.
