The service and food were spectacular! We are staying in a cozy, clean and well-decorated room at (Chef)Thomas and Fatima's Casa Dos Ruis and asked about a restaurant for dinner. Fatima suggested Tabua d'Aço! What a feast! For 25 euros each we ate like king and queen - 4 course meal plus a bottle of vinho verde. The tapas of olives, cheese and a variety of cured meats and sausage and a basket of homemade bread was just a starter. Then came the cod -- crispy on the outside, moist and cooked to perfection on the inside - to die for! The potatoes tasted like they had just be plucked from the earth. The third course of lamb with more potatoes was all cooked in a heavenly gravy and served with a side of salad. Finally, desert... although filled to the gills, we had a choice of at least 6 different deserts - we chose the lemon meringue and another (can't remember), but both were delicious. We are sad the restaurant is closed for our second night stay but happy that the hard working staff will get a day off. Highly, highly recommend this chef-quality...

Hats off to the chef and the whole team who made this delicious meal and very memorable...
