Ilha Formosa — Restaurant in Tavira

I have never before written a negative review. But..... How I wish I had read the reviews for this place. So very, very disappointing.

I ordered Octopus Skewer. I asked what it came with and was told boiled potatoes and salad. 19.50€ When it arrived, there were three small pieces of octopus, and three prawns. I don't like prawns. I don't like shell-on prawns. I didn't ask for shell-on prawns. Prawns were not listed on the menu. I was not told they would be served with the octopus, despite asking what came with the meal. Shrug from the waiter.....

My husband ordered Blackened Pork and Shrimp skewer. 19€ Blackened? The pork was not cooked properly at all. It was red/pink pork. Undercooked, and in places, raw. Food poisoning ready to happen.

We were offered 10€ as a refund, which was something.

The couple seated next to us had grilled fish. They left most of it, as it too was not cooked properly. Raw in places.

What is the problem in the kitchen? I suggest the chef (??) look at some of these reviews and alter his cooking regime.

We went there despite the terrible reviews as the personnel convinced us that it was a brand new management and they reassured us that the food would be great. Well, we were disapponted to see that the fish was not fresh. I suspect it was spoiled fish from the recent blackout or simply old. About the service, despite the fake facade of kindness, I felt that theywere trying to squeeze us and take advantage of us as much as possible instead of trying to make up for their bad reviews. I put 4 for the atmosphere as it was nice to be in the sun...

Leider enttäuschend – nicht empfehlenswert! ❌🍽️

Wir waren voller Vorfreude auf unseren Besuch bei Ilha Formosa, wurden jedoch leider stark enttäuscht. 😞

Schon zu Beginn mussten wir sehr lange warten, bis sich überhaupt ein Kellner zu uns bemühte. ⏳ Erst auf unsere Nachfrage hin erhielten wir eine Menükarte 📖. Weil kein Kellner zur Bestellung kam, gaben wir sie schließlich einem der Läufer weiter. 🚶‍♂️ Kurz darauf kam dann doch ein Kellner – allerdings nur, um noch einmal zu bestätigen, ob wir das Getränk wirklich bestellt hatten. 🥤❓

Die Getränke kamen leider wurde das Getränk für unsere Tochter dann komplett vergessen 🙄. Das Getränk kam irgendwann – und genau das ist auch der nächste Kritikpunkt: Es dauerte ewig. 😤 Wieder mussten wir aktiv einen Kellner ansprechen um unser Essen zu Bestellen, um überhaupt voranzukommen 🙋‍♀️.

Und als das Essen dann endlich kam, war es nur noch lauwarm bis kalt 🥶🍛. Für ein Restaurant in so einer Tollen Lage absolut inakzeptabel.

Fazit: Der Service war unkoordiniert, langsam und unaufmerksam, das Essen unterdurchschnittlich 👎. In der aktuellen Verfassung kann ich Ilha Formosa leider nicht weiterempfehlen. 🚫 Ich hoffe die Zuständigen lesen das hier und versuchen ihren Service zu verbessern. Sollte das passieren bin ich bereit noch einmal...
