I spend a lot of time at the beach on Tavira Island and have eaten at most of the restaurants several times. I was with my girlfriend and decided to try Sunshine Bar for lunch.
I ordered a chicken Caesar salad and my girlfriend ordered chicken piripiri.
When our food was ready to be served, the plates were placed on the serving hatch and the chef rang the bell. After waiting a few more minutes none of the staff were going to collect our food so I went to collect it myself.
To say the Caesar salad was small is an understatement, it was almost a side plate and I could see a lot of croutons but very few little chicken pieces.
My girlfriend had a chicken piece that was had piripiri sauce sprinkled on it. This was not the quality of food we were used to from the other restaurants.
I complained to the waiter and the owner but neither was interested or offered any solution. In fact, the owner just shrugged his shoulders and walked away.
We will certainly never return until it changed hands - which probably won’t...
Read moreWe visited Tavira in May 2016. We used the Sunshine Bar quite a few times during our visit and loved it. It did get busy (the whole area did) during the weekend so this will impact on the length of time you have to wait. But hey, you're on holiday so you should be relaxing and not clock watching anyway.
