During our trip that day, we hadn't originally planned to stop in that city, but we made that decision after researching restaurants for lunch. What we were looking for was a comfortable and pleasant place with good food, of course, and this restaurant provided all that at fair prices. Even though we didn't have a reservation and the place was packed, the staff kindly offered us a table. O restaurante Papa Figos fica localizado na cidade de Torres Novas, aberto desde 2013 manteve sempre a mesma consistência. O espaço é agradável e acolhedor. O serviço tem uma dedicação presente em cada mesa, o que eleva bastante o atendimento. O restaurante apresenta uma cozinha com base nos produtos regionais. O figo e os frutos secos estão muito presentes nesta carta.

Nesta nossa incursão ao Papa Figos começamos com um couvert que consistia num pão quente, azeitonas bem temperadas e patés.

Escolhemos duas entradas, cogumelos e morcela de arroz. Os cogumelos recheados com figo pingo mel, bacon e queijo. Morcela de arroz com maçã e canela. Gostamos mais da morcela, talvez pela maçã que lhe trazia alguma frescura. 5€ cada.

Para os pratos principais escolhemos a garoupa braseada com sementes de Chia e Sésamo, a garoupa acompanhava um risotto de grelos, esparregado, tomate grelhado e espargos. 18€

Bife “Angus” com arroz de chouriço e cogumelos, espargos, esparregado e batata frita. A carne foi para nós o destaque pela sua qualidade. 18€ A sobremesa foi um leite-creme com figo preto e flor de anis. Sentem-se os pedaços de figo…para quem adora figo aconselhamos esta sobremesa. O leite-creme foi queimado ao momento.5€

Como cortesia foram-nos oferecidos uns bombons de figo e chocolate. Eram excelentes.
