Café Torres — Restaurant in Valongo

Been coming to this restaurant for almost 25 years and the quality has remained the same.

For me, it's the best francesinha in Porto in terms of size, given the traditional size, you'll not get completely out of breath when finishing it, the freshness and quality of the ingredients is incredibly high, cheese just melts smoothly when the sauce touches it, linguiça and salsicha fresca give it that smoked flavor, the beef is tender and seasoned perfectly, the fries are one of the best and everything beautifully complemented with an amazing and velvety sauce that has a very subtle hint of cummin, which is not traditional (I know) but it elevates the taste experience.

The staff throughout the years is always nice and the owners are the same and always present and make sure you have a great experience in their "home".

The only thing I can say I would "do better" is just lowering the music volume, sometimes it gets too loud and the people eating there will talk louder but that really doesn't affect much of the overall experience.

If you come here and are not that hungry, I also highly recommend the "Prego".

Reserve a table or come early if you want to eat here and I hope in the next 25 years I'm still in love with...

O café torres sabe servir francesinhas!.

Local mais ou menos central na cidade de ermesinde (mesmo junto à estação ferroviária), o café torres é especialista em Francesinhas. Café bem decorado com motivos regionais (azulejos com imagens locais) e apelativos ao próprio restaurante (fotografias das francesinhas). De notar igualmente (promenor interessante) que numa das paredes se expõe uma "carta" emitida pela câmara de Amarante, onde já refere a fama das francesinhas por amarante, referindo inclusive a possibilidade de lá abrir um estabelecimento com a mesma receita.

Ar agradável e calmo, espacoço (ainda que não muito grande) e foi possível confirmar algumas regras de distanciamento entre mesas (p. exemplo: cadeiras que funcioam como "barreiras" a outras mesas.

No que toca às francesinhas, são aparentemente pequenas no tamanho, mas uma pessoa sai satisfeita após a refeição. O molho é característico do café, não sendo igual a outros sítios - menos picante, para quem gostar.

Empregados simpáticos, atenciosos e preocupados. Durante o jantar preocuparam-se com os clientes, em trazer molho e no fim do jantar em trazer a conta e o multibanco à mesa.

Deixar apenas a nota de que seria importante o café apresentar algum "menu": seja virtual ou físico: caso exista alguém que não queria comer uma francesinha, por um ou vários motivos, dificilmente conseguirá obter informação de que outros pratos/refeições servem. A indicação que tivemos foi "hamburguers, cachorros ou francesinha". Seria importante mostrar os pratos que têm.

A francesinha era muito boa, mas não era de excelência por causa do molho. Mas mesmo assim os enchidos notava se que eram bem fresquinhos e a qualidade até da carne era boa. A única coisa que ficou um pouco a perder da francesinha foi o molho mas de resto tudo muito bom. Os melhores rissois de leitão que comi na minha vida sem dúvida e o staff é muito simpático. Recomendo e hei de lá voltar mais vezes, sem dúvida. Só não dou 5 estrelas na comida pois uma francesinha deste calibre exigia um molho melhor, fora isso, dos melhores restaurantes onde já comi na minha...
