Areal ( Bar-Restaurante ) — Restaurant in Vila do Conde

This snack bar restaurant is right on the beach with a big terrace enough to accommodate quite a lot of people. Been coming here for years .Its the same owner all these years! it's one of my favourite spots to just relaxing and watch the ocean while having a drink or snack. The food is great, face it, you’re there for the location.Being so crowded at times specially in summer you have to look for waiter, they don’t come around to check up on you. People are always coming and going.I do recommend this place...

I hesitated a lot to come here because of the reviews, but in the end I decided to come. I can't say that it's the best place I've been, it has a great location, that's true, the food is good, there's not a lot of food and drink choices, which is ok. I saw a lot of bad reviews about the service, I can't agree with that, although I was there when it wasn't crowded, I had an excellent waiter, I didn't wait and I got everything I asked for. Jamais vu ça, venu en famille pour les vacances leur faire découvrir le pays de leur grand père maternel, nous avons attendu 1h, toujours pas servi, nous avons insisté pour avoir de l'eau au moins pour les enfants encore petits de 3, 5 et 7ans.... nous sommes en plein été il fait chaud. Ils ont servi une autre table dont les personnes étaient arrivées après nous. Le serveur nous a regardé avec un sourire narquois en servant la table d'à côté, nous sommes partis après un peu plus d' 1h d'attente et toujours rien ni repas ni boissons servi, pourtant la commande était prise... Sincèrement dommage que je ne puisse pas mettre 0 étoile.... Le service 0 l'accueil 0 ils se sont même disputé devant nous pour nous placer....Du jamais vu. Les enfants déçu de ne pas avoir mangé mais surtout bu un peu d'eau..... Ambiance 0 , et pourtant je parle le portugais même si je suis française et bien rien je déconseille cet établissement car même l'hygiène se laisse à désirer, les WC horrible.... Je mets une note de 0 en tous points. Il devrait y avoir un peu plus de contrôle dans cet...
