Restaurante Japonês - One piece sushi-bar — Restaurant in Vila Nova de Gaia

Was expecting more after watching some pictures online of the place. Went there, had a weird vibe, lights turned off at the back, some one piece posters in the back and figurines around the place but so small that barely noticeable. The menu was the most impressive part since it was very well designed to match the theme the restaurant was going for. The pictures of the food could be a bit better, some are not very appealing. Anyways, for the food, we asked for a bit of sushi and some crepes and fried chicken (sort of like schnitzel). The chicken and crepes were reasonable, but the sushi fell off. One of the sushi we asked for was fried California, and it was so horrible it was hard to eat. The looks of it were alright, but when looking at the cross section, it didn't look right. After eating it was noticeable that the salmon used in the California sushi still had all the fat attached. This made it very fishy and not enjoyable. Also my tax number was wrongly input, which was just the cherry on top but is life. It's not a place I'm keen on going back...

Even though, the workers don't speak Japanese, the whole place was a huge surprise for me. With my wife, spending our honeymoon in Porto, and talked about our Future because we will go to Japan after the college for a year. So just for fun I wrote to the google maps "Osaka One Piece restaurant".... and the maps got me this bar like some kilometers away. We tried and it's 😎 awesome. The sushi is really good and extremely cheap. We bought it like 1/10th price compares that we can buy in our home. Also the whole restaurant is One Piece themed, like from the kitchen to the toilet lid.

O atendimento é muito bom e a comida é sempre fresca! Barato e com qualidade, parada obrigatório quando o seu paladar necessita de comida japonesa!

O cardápio tem muitas opções de entrada, e como foi a primeira vez que comi no estabelecimento pedi o misô, que serve bem uma pessoa. Possui cenoura, tofu, algas e cebolinhas. Não me arrependi e ainda me abriu o apetite.

Demorei um pouco para escolher, pois o cardápio é extenso, temos muitas variedades. Desde carnes na chapa a massas e a comida japonesa.

Escolhi o numero 117 e não me arrependi. Foram 34 peças, entre sushi e sahimis(até veio polvo). Tudo estava bem fresco e saboroso, e o arroz parece ter sido feito a algumas horas antes, o que deixa o sabor mais acentuado. Bônus: Escolha para vir alguns fritos e não vai se arrepender.

Para acompanhar pedi uma cerveja Asahi, que acompanha perfeitamente todo tipo de comida asiática com peixe cru. É uma cerveja mais cara, mas a sua experiência com a comida vai mudar muito! Bônus: pedi para que me servissem a cerveja no momento que trouxessem a comida e que colocassem o copo na geladeira, assim a cerveja fica bem gelada!

A sobremesa foi um pouco aquém do que imaginei. O sorvete é bom, mas a massa de crepe não combina tanto assim, e os toppings de caramelo e morango não são dos melhores. Se quiser algo doce, recomendo pedir algo diferente do crepe. Somente esse foi o ponto negativo.

Em tempos de pandemia este restaurante conseguiu se adaptar e para aproveitar o cardápio é necessário fazer uma reserva antes.

O restaurante ainda conta com um take-away com um menu diferente do servido para quem fez a reserva, e não perde no...
