For the last two years I have come to Qatar to visit my family a couple times a year, and have often gone to Señorita since discovering it for what felt like a welcoming and warm atmosphere with some of Doha’s best live music.
It seems that since the World Cup they have increasingly tried to lean more towards becoming a sit-in restaurant/bar with stringent rules on dance floor etiquette and client fees. While the food is quite average and staff has sometimes had issues with communication (e.g. getting orders wrong and mismanaging reservations for the pool table) the atmosphere has always made up for it.
This is not the case anymore. Staff seems to be kept on a tight leash, constantly restricting what the clientele can do, not always reasonably, and yesterday was the last straw for me. Staff came up to me and my friend three times:
They came to tell us to not make any recordings of others when I made a video of my friend and the band. This had never been an issue before, and I wasn’t even recording other people
While on the dance floor with the live band, someone whistled after a song. Security proceeded to come up to us to tell us to not whistle. Neither of us were even whistling, and security went on to stop everyone else who was dancing to tell them not to whistle as well
This was the cherry on top. We had been there for about 30 minutes and after these two incidents decided we would leave soon. We had just ordered a shot each so far for 35 QAR each (this was around midnight). A waiter asked us if we wanted anything else and we said we were fine for the moment (not that we would not get anything else). Security once again came up to us and without explanation told us to follow him outside. After escorting us outside in front of everyone else, he told us since we were not spending more we had to leave. It would have been one thing if the waiter had told us we had to order something more if we wanted to stay there, an issue I had never even had before but which I’d understand, but the way they handled this was humiliating.
Overall the place was already half empty since it was a Saturday night, and there was barely anyone dancing. The band was often asking people to come up to dance, one of the singers even passed me and someone else the mic for a few seconds to sing as a way to liven up the mood and encourage us to sing along which was awesome. The band still brings with them the Latino energy which drew me to this place. It’s unfortunate to see management...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at SeñorRitas Tex Mex in Lusail, and I must say it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm hospitality and an inviting atmosphere.
Food: The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the food. SeñorRitas Tex Mex takes Tex-Mex cuisine to a whole new level. The menu offered a delightful array of dishes that cater to every palate. I started with their signature nachos, which were loaded with fresh ingredients and a perfect balance of flavors. The main course, a sizzling plate of fajitas, was a true masterpiece. The meats were tender, the vegetables crisp, and the seasoning was just right. Each bite was a burst of Tex-Mex goodness.
Drinks: The drink menu was equally impressive. I tried one of their margaritas, and it was hands down one of the best I've ever had. The drinks menu had a variety of options, making it a perfect place for both cocktails enthusiasts and non-drinkers.
Ambiance: SeñorRitas Tex Mex has a vibrant and colorful ambiance that instantly transports you to a Tex-Mex cantina. The décor, complete with sombreros and rustic furniture, adds to the overall charm of the place. Whether you're dining with friends or family, the atmosphere is welcoming and relaxed.
Service: The staff at SeñorRitas Tex Mex were attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. They were more than happy to provide recommendations and ensure that our dining experience was top-notch. The service was prompt, and our needs were well taken care of throughout the evening.
Conclusion: In conclusion, SeñorRitas Tex Mex in Lusail is a must-visit for Tex-Mex enthusiasts and anyone looking for a memorable dining experience. The combination of exceptional food, fantastic drinks, welcoming ambiance, and attentive service makes it a standout choice in the area. I'll definitely be returning for more Tex-Mex delights...
Read moreIll start with we had an amazing waitor, who was super kind, understanding and agreed with my complaints. They were also confused on why the owners chose a much more greedy system, he said they only did it for the World Cup but I would still avoid this place. You have to guess what you're gonna pay before you even go inside and they give you coupons for what you pre pay. Once inside you're greeted with a completely different menu from the website and its extremely limited with hiked up prices. Tex-Mex staples like chips & salsa and even queso dip is not avaliable. Had a server who got chips and salsa for me but charged me 50 QR which is ≈15 USD and it tasted like tomato soup with sugar. Got a beef fajita imagining it would be like a tex-mex fajita for more than one however it was not, it cost 100 QR which is roughly ≈33 USD. It tasted okay more like 'sweetened Indian food', yet lacking in seasoning and spices. The business model is inefficient and greedy. A standard margarita is 50 QR as well and its like a shot with heavy flavoring the only thing i had that had any sort if flavor at all to it, to refill would be another 50 QR. While this is a bar, we were told at the entrance you are not allowed to just come have a drink you have to buy food at their raised and greedy prices. I highly recommend avoiding this place if you want to make your money go further and have a quality food experience with the desire for tex-mex, it is the furthest from it. Paying up front at the door is necessary because once you sit inside and experience it you're more inclined to stay because you already paid. The only thing this place offers is overpriced alcohol which is difficult to find in Doha. The location, building and atmosphere is a really cool and beautiful, however, I could recommend much better establishments for alcohol & tex-mex food at...
