Gathering customer feedback and acting upon it is a hallmark of successful restaurants. Regrettably, this was not my experience at Doner Istanbul. In a recent order that included falafel sandwiches among other items, a single bite revealed the use of stale oil, which significantly compromised the overall taste and rendered the sandwich inedible. I conveyed my feedback to the restaurant staff, specifically a cashier by the name of 'Nujoom.' I was taken aback by his response; not only was he unwilling to listen to my feedback, but he also dismissed it as untrue, citing that my complaint was made five hours after receiving the order thus cannot be considered—Really!! In my understanding of successful restaurants, regardless of when feedback is shared, the provider should be receptive and committed to service recovery. Such actions foster customer loyalty. It is evident that this individual lacks an understanding of customer service. Furthermore, his demeanor was characterized by arrogance, defensiveness, and an astonishing statement, "Do mention my name when sharing your feedback on Trustpilot." This behavior was shocking. Nevertheless, it is the experiences that shape or shatter customer loyalty. After this incident, I have no intention of returning to this restaurant, and I will refrain from recommending it to friends and colleagues, as I have done in the past. Incorrect attitude from the staff can definitely cause...
Read moreVery decent shawarma wrap, juicy, meat was done properly. Lemon mint was good too, not too sweet. Will be back to try other dishes.
Update: So I went here for a real meal. The salad plate is not bad. Mutabal and hummus are fine, I had better, but some other salads were really tasty. Muchamara is nutty, and they also had another one with walnuts and honey(not sure), these were good! Surprisingly, the coleslaw was actually really good. Usually I never like it due to excess amount of mayonnaise, but this one was done really well. Falafel was crispy outside, nicely done, not oily. From the mix grill I enjoyed lamb chops the most, these were moist and very soft, without much of a lamb smell. The rest of the meats were a bit overcooked in my opinion, and maybe a bit under seasoned. Baklava with ice cream was really good! I wish they also had kunafa, but it was not available. In the tea they put a cinnamon stick, nice hint. For all these dishes I paid 140qr, that is cheap for what you get. So, this restaurant is definitely worth...

We had a fantastic dining experience yesterday at Doner Istanbul! From the moment we walked in, the welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff made us feel right at home.
The star of the show for me was the Ali Nazik – my personal favorite! The smoky grilled eggplant blended with creamy yogurt, topped with tender, flavorful meat was simply divine. Every bite was rich, comforting, and full of authentic Turkish flavor. It’s a dish I could come back for again and again!
We also tried the Beyti Kebab, which was juicy, well-seasoned, and beautifully wrapped in lavash, topped with yogurt and tomato sauce – pure perfection!
The Mama Rice was buttery, fragrant, and paired perfectly with every dish on the table. If you’re looking for a genuine taste of Turkey right here in town, Doner Istanbul is the place to be. Highly recommended for food lovers who appreciate bold flavors and hearty meals.
