All the way from Beirut, Baron Doha opened up a few months ago in the colorful Old Doha Port. Their Beirut branch was rated the #16 MENA’s 50 best restaurants in 2024. They serve Mediterranean food with a concept of sharing dishes. The menu was very interesting with lots of unique dishes and most of it had a blend of new ideas mixed in to some of the classic dishes we know.
We started off with some of their Zucchini salad, which were served as zoodles with feta, radishes, shallots, mint and pistachios. I really liked the pistachios added to it, not so common in salads. It was tangy and fresh. Then we got some of their Grilled Calamari, topped with lots of coriander, lemon and chili powder. Also super fresh and light.
We tried their Roasted Corn that was served as a full corn on the cob that was cut table side and mixed with lemon, butter, coriander and feta. This was my favorite dish honestly, the elote spices with the tangy and creaminess of the lemon and butter, made the corn really special. Next we shared the Shish Barak, which were stuffed filo pastry dumplings with spiced beef and pine nuts topped with yogurt and tomato sauce. It was a really hearty and warm dish, super tender beef that went so well with the soothing yogurt sauce.
To finish it up we got the dessert called A “Mess”, which was presented and explained table side. It was a mixture of some ice cream, yogurt cream, lemon cream, mixed berries, berry sauce and a sort of biscuit crumble. It was a fun presentation and hence being called a mess. Nice dish to share amongst yourselves.

Read moreI had the absolute pleasure of dining at Baron and was blown away by the experience. The food was nothing short of sensational – every dish was beautifully presented, full of flavor, and generously portioned.
We started with the whipped chickpea hummus with carrots, harissa, feta, and khubz, which was creamy and vibrant, followed by the spiced roasted cauliflower with yoghurt, tahini, walnut salsa, pomegranate, and rose petals – a true standout both in taste and presentation. The spiced chicken dumplings (momos) with tomato harissa sauce, crisp shallot, and chatta were packed with flavor, while the brisket bao with octo sauce, spring onion chutney, hoisin, kewpie, house pickles, peanuts, and herbs was rich, satisfying, and perfectly balanced.
To finish, the “Date” steamed cake with tahini ice cream and salted caramel was the perfect sweet ending – indulgent yet refined.
The business lunch menu was excellent value for money, especially at a Michelin-level restaurant, and the portion sizes were impressively generous for starters and mains alike.
Overall, Baron is a place I’ll 100% be returning to – not just for the outstanding food, but also for the warm atmosphere and impeccable execution. Highly recommend it for anyone looking for a dining experience that combines creativity, quality, and...

Last night, we enjoyed an exceptional dinner at Baron, a Michelin Guide 2025 selection in the Mina District of Doha.
Two dishes stood out so much that I’d call them absolute musts for anyone visiting: • ½ Cauliflower – roasted to perfection, paired with yoghurt, tahini, walnut salsa, and pomegranate. Rich, smoky, and layered with flavour. • Carrot – served over whipped chickpea hummus, with feta, housemade harissa, and warm khubz bread. A perfect balance of sweetness, spice, and creaminess.
We also loved the Brisket Bao – melt-in-the-mouth brisket wrapped in a soft steamed bun, with hoisin, pickles, fresh herbs, and a delicate powdered peanut topping that tied all the flavours together beautifully.
To make the evening even more special, the Lebanese chef personally invited us to enjoy a complimentary dessert – a kefir semifreddo with olive oil and sea salt. An unexpected combination, perfectly executed, and a delicious finale that left us smiling.
Baron delivers on every level: food, atmosphere, and service. And if you go, don’t leave without ordering the cauliflower and the carrot – they’re...
