The most authentic Asian restaurant in Doha. When you walk through the door, your nose tells you that the food is going to be good. It just smells right. We all enjoyed our meal. Forgot to take pics of our appetisers as we hoover those up so quickly, delicious! We ordered stuffed tofu in a light batter. Spicy dipping sauce. Chicken satay ayam, with Peanut sauce and ayam dipping sauce. Battered tempeh that tasted like taro. Squid was super tender. Clams were our favourite. Morning glory was lackign in "wok hay" sadly. Bihun goreng (fried noodles) was good. Prawn laksa was good, not as good as I wished but that's an unfair expectation. Braised then grilled beef short ribs, super smoky and a hit at our table; it comes with a clear bone broth too. Drinks, lychee lemon grass (without sugar syrup) was delicious. Coconut milk shake with mango ice-cream. My friend didn't like his. Mine was made from soya milk, and I enjoyed it. Had my ice cream on the side. To finish off we gobbled up the lychee pudding made with agar agar. Light crisp, clean and perfect finish to a lovely meal. Staff was friendly and service was good. Tasty, affordable and definitely going back. Bonus. They deliver...
Read moreWe went rather early (for us) for dinner here today. First impressions: warm and welcoming ambience with tasteful modern decor. Our eyes were taken immediately to the one and one floor seating there and we waited for our turn to be served there. The neatness of the place and the friendliness of the staff gives off amazing vibes. We asked what the favorites were and then we ordered Bakwan Sayur (vegetable fritter), iced lemongrass drink, Laksa, Beef Randang and Nasi Goreng. The food served was tasteful and we'll proportioned. The fried onion garnish felt very close to what we are used to in Pakistani food as a garnish, and the addition of the kachumar style salad on the side. Beef Randang felt very close to beef masala curry. Our only issue was that the chicken piece with Nadi Goreng was a bit over fried which made the skin too crispy. The spicy was mild and the sweet soy sauce made the Bakwan that much more enjoyable as did the hot chili sauce. We left with full tummies, satisfied smiles and a little take away bag. Thank you for great food, we will be back for sure. (Bakwan and Laksa both had more, these pics were taken after we had...
Read moreI'm so glad this place opens from 7am on weekends for breakfast. From the outside it looks like a usual diner among the many small shops on a small busy street. But step inside, you're immediately welcomed by the friendly staff and the smell of food from the kitchen enticing enough to excite your taste buds. The dining area upstairs will take you by surprise. It can fit quite a number of people without feeling cramped. The interior is designed with simple charming decor, small touches of Indonesian culture, and full of light. The menu features an extensive selection of Indonesian, Malay and Filipino dishes which are often spicy but pack a handful of flavours. Different traditional desserts are available weekly for dine-in or take-away but not delivery. The food is as homely and authentic and tasty as you can get for such a decent price, I could eat here multiple times a week without...
