We've been to another Harat's pub in Ulan Ude and it was a blast! We loved it!
Armed with that experience, once we arrived in Irkutsk, we went straight to its "sister" pub, only to find the staff gathered arounda a TV watching a game and almost totally ignoring us.
The food was subpar and the overall feeling was like mistakenly dropping in at a secret mobster gathering where everybody is wondering what on earth are you doing there and contemplate to kick you out but eventually just ignore you.

Read moreO.K. so normally we wouldn't we try an Irish bar in Russia as we are on holiday to escape the West! but we needed the loo and thought oh this place looks nice for a beer. Luckily our great barman pulled us a delicious dark Russian beer [O.K. it was from St Petersburg not Irkutsk but it was great tasting, and much better than heavy Guinness for me].
