Otel' Viktoriya — Restaurant in Irkutsk

We loved Irkutsk and were lucky to be there in warm sunny autumn weather. We stayed two nights at Hotel Victoria (Victory) organised for us by Sundowners Overland. The hotel is in a great location, tucked in a laneway off a very interesting street full of historic wooden houses in various states of repair. ||In the nearby main street is a supermarket and an ATM and a great pelmeni restaurant. The hotel is fairly close to the pedestrian mall and the market. It’s a taxi ride to the railway station.||We enjoyed walking around Irkutsk. The locals are very friendly and the drivers are much more polite than where I live.||The hotel is friendly and comfortable. The room was fine and had fridge, table and chairs and free offerings. In the bathroom, there is a deep bath with shower. Laundry was done promptly when requested. ||Our favourite cafe was Buono, close to the hotel.||We really recommend Irkutsk. We had spent two nights in Listvyanka beforehand which was fantastic. Most travellers go straight from Listvyanka to the station to continue the Trans Siberian. It was very hard for me to find the site address and phonenumber i felt like your hotel intentionally hide it. Please make sure to find this easily. Other than that, all things were great.
