Driving in to the wonderous and unimaginable glass skyline of Пресненская набережная, 12 is an eye opener and an eye sore. With the construction and no parking for this kind of business, this is the first turn away they have. Though if you do find the parking, get ready to pay 200 рублей в час.
Upon entering the large revolving glass doors, you are greeted and asked what or where you are going. One of the staff walk you to the elevator and point you into the direction you need and you enter. After a quick 10 second ride and ears popped, you arrive at the 60th floor and the restaurant known as Sixty. Another fail point, no one is waiting behind the desk. You kind of figure it out where you might need to go or move into to find this restaurant. Which, you need to climb some additional steps or ride another elevator a short flight up.
Once we entered the final resting place of Sixty. You're asked for either reservations, which at the this point of time doesn't really need to exist as half the time the restaurant is mostly empty. If you ask for a certain table, I.e. Near the window. You're told they are they are not available, and for the rest of your meal you watch as no one comes in and hose tables remain empty. Instead of catering to the guests that would like to make your establishment great, you sit them near the inside circle surrounded by trees, instead of by the windows. Which is the selling point of this restaurant.
The food is rather well balanced. The суп с лесными грибами was ok, but overly salted. Instead of drinking a nice well balanced soup, it felt as though I was drinking the sea. The ризотто с куриной печенью was tolerable. Quaint, not fine or even well defined for a high end restaurant.
Bread is provided on the table, no butter or anything else with it. The wait staff are quiet near by, swooping in to fill your glass with water, and polity ask if it's time to take your plate. But completely moronic when it comes to picking the alcohol. In what sense might be good or to compliment your food or your senses that day or evening. The bottle service for their alcohol can rather be purchased at your local grocery than the absurd prices they have for so called high end wine, which in fact is a putrid note of stale grapes or watered...
Read moreDon't go to Sixty. The reception was rude. When we got seated they said, we can only have the table for one and a half hours, the food is too expensive to be told that. Service is awful, we got served a little bit of water in the beginning, and that was it. The waiter never came by and asked if we wanted more. Luckily I brought some water myself, so I was OK.
There was also a camera lady forcing us to take a picture. We said no, but she insisted on taking a photo and didn't tell us what she needed it for, we assumed it was for their Instagram. She even asked us to stand up and move more together while we just had received our food. We told her no, but she did not understand. After a while, she left, but she managed to take one picture of us while we were sitting down, and after lunch was over, she came back and asked if we wanted to buy a framed photo she had taken of us. We said no thanks.
I'm happy I didn't go here in the evening because it would have completely ruined my evening. I don't...
