Review for Indochine: A Promising New Addition to Kigali’s Dining Scene I had the pleasure of dining at Indochine last evening, a newly opened restaurant offering Asian-influenced dishes. The ambiance is truly delightful—it's a beautifully designed space that exudes warmth and charm, making it a perfect spot for a casual evening out. We indulged in a variety of dishes, including dumplings, gyozas, fried calamari, firecracker spring rolls, and fried rice with chicken. While everything was quite nice, I felt that some dishes leaned a bit too heavily on the deep-fried side, which may have masked some of the authentic flavors that one might expect. That said, the food was enjoyable and served nicely. One of the standout features of Indochine is the exceptional service. As is often the case in Kigali, the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making us feel welcomed throughout our visit. Our wait time for the food was reasonable at around 30 minutes - acceptable for a freshly prepared meal. While we were the only guests during our visit, which made the atmosphere feel a tad empty, I believe this restaurant has enormous potential. With a bit more visibility and perhaps some tweaks to the menu, I can easily see Indochine becoming a go-to spot for locals and visitors alike.
