We went to this restaurant with family after hearing all the hype, but honestly it was a total letdown.
The menu was misleading VAT wasn’t included, and staff kept pushing “special” items that weren’t even on the menu. For example, they recommended a “Shapta Roll” for SAR 20 (regular rolls were 15–14). It turned out to be just soggy oily bread with chutney inside zero taste. Same with naan: they suggested “keema naan" versions at inflated prices without showing anything in writing.
The worst part is they don’t even know serving sizes. Ask how many people a dish serves and no one can answer. Everything is overpriced and not worth it.
I ordered a green salad and got stale, smelly onions that looked rotten. The waiter admitted salads are pre-cut and frozen. I returned it, but later saw the exact same plate served to another table. That’s beyond unhygienic.
We also tried chicken and mutton karahi both overpriced and tasteless. Service was terrible: the waiter kept coming every two minutes asking “how’s the taste?” and even told my 4-year old daughter not to make noise. Very rude and unprofessional.
Overall: taste = zero, service = zero, prices = sky-high. And when I complained, no apology or proper handling at all. Even the bill had items not listed on the menu.
Not worth the...

I recently visited Spice and Flavor, and I must say—what a fantastic experience! From presentation to taste, everything was spot-on. We ordered a mix of dishes, and each one stood out in its own way.
The white chicken karahi and brown karahi were absolutely delicious—rich, perfectly spiced, and full of flavor. The naan was soft with a slightly crispy base and topped with sesame seeds, paired beautifully with the karahi and their yogurt sauce, which had a smooth, tangy taste that balanced the spices really well.
We also tried a heart-shaped ban kabab/ande wala burger, which was a nice surprise visually, though the flavor was a bit underwhelming compared to the rest of the dishes, it definitely gives you nostalgia.
The real stars of the evening were the juicy kababs and the gulab jamun soft, warm, and melt-in-your-mouth good. And to finish it all off, we had their Chini wali chai, which was the perfect end to the meal.
Every item tasted fresh and felt like it was made with care. They truly don’t miss on flavor—each dish delivers exactly what you'd expect from a place that calls itself "Spice and Flavor."

Read moreWhen this restaurant first opened in Northern Riyadh, I was very happy to finally have a Pakistani place nearby. In the beginning, the food was genuinely good — especially the Murgh Chana and Kalwanji Naan.
Unfortunately, over the past year, the quality has declined. The Chana is now often undercooked with watery gravy, and the Halwa Puri is not up to standard — the puris come out thick and hard on the edges. Another concern is that the gravies for breakfast are served in thin plastic containers, which soften from the heat and are not safe for hot food.
Sadly, this reflects a common trend I’ve noticed with many Pakistani businesses abroad: they start strong, gain customers quickly, but struggle to maintain consistency over time. This restaurant had a great start, but the charm has faded.
I truly hope they work on bringing back the same quality and standards that made them stand out in the beginning. Until then, I’ll hold off on...
