EDIT: A year and a half ago, during the challenging days of COVID, I ventured to this restaurant alone. The experience was delightful and stayed fresh in my memory. However, recently, after the pandemic subsided, I had the pleasure of revisiting this restaurant, but this time, I was accompanied by my family. The difference in experience was truly remarkable.
As I revisited, we relished an array of authentic Chinese dishes. The menu included classic Hot and Sour Soup, flavorful Kung Pao Chicken, a sumptuous Mixed Seafood Platter, and Vegetable Noodles. Each dish was a burst of authentic Chinese flavors, leaving us truly satisfied.
The ambiance of the restaurant remained as wonderful as ever. It set the perfect stage for a memorable dining experience. The food, in particular, was mouthwatering and lived up to our expectations.
However, there were a couple of drawbacks that we couldn't overlook. First and foremost, the absence of an elevator in the establishment posed a challenge, especially for seniors in our group. We genuinely hope that some solution is considered for this issue in the future, as it can greatly enhance the accessibility of this fantastic place.
Another aspect to consider is the waiting period. While it can vary, we observed that it tends to be on the longer side. So, be prepared for a bit of patience. Nonetheless, the wait is entirely worth it.
What added to the charm of the restaurant was seeing Chinese nationals enjoying the food with the same enthusiasm as if they were back in their homeland. It was a testament to the authenticity of the cuisine.

Read moreRecently visited Chinese Bistro, Andulus street Al Hamra at lunch time. I have a mixture of experience, therefore, before I give my input on food, it is important to give my thoughts about overall environment. The stairs are dirty and horrible, so it is not advised for older or pregnant women to take any chance. Decor is good with Chinese touch. Average cleanliness and must request for sanitizer that was provided. The air conditioning was very poor, and reason given was that it is very hot outside, although, generally we request in some Jeddah restaurants to keep cooling a bit lower as it is sometimes really very cool. The waiters are totally unprofessional, cannot speak proper Arabic or English. They changed our table twice due to air conditioning issue. Waiters do not guide you about size of serving or suggest how much is enough for a couple etc. The only thing I will suggest is Hot Pot which a big platter of different kind of raw meat, chicken breast and mortadella etc. which you cook on the grill/hot plate along with a big container with soup boiling in it with too much oil. Famous Tom yum soup was not available. Various tasteless sauces. Occasionally fly will give you company. On complain, provided with an electric racket to kill/roast her, an additional activity. We ordered also Manchurian beef, a plate of mixed fried rice both were good in taste. Also ordered seaweed which was ok but oily. We could only consume less than one third and rest of the food was packed for take away. If they told us size of HOT POT serving, this wastage be could easily be avoided. Price is normal. Generally we dine outside mainly for 2 things good food and a more refreshing environment accompanied by a friendly...
Read moreMy last visit in this restaurant was super amazing. And today, it's my friend's birthday and he was asking for recommendations for a place where he can celebrate his special day. Never had a second thought of recommending "CHINESE BISTRO" as a perfect place for this special day!!!! When we arrived at the restaurant, i was again amazed by the decors sorrounding us, lights, chinese lanterns, chinese bamboo decors, a fountain with running water which sounds like a relaxing nature of river. As we enter the door, we are welcomed by a smile and greetings from their pleasing and friendly staff and cashier. Then one staff accompany us to our table. I was shock because the last time i visited the restaurant, there were no rooms on the corner, and now we are inside a fully furnished room with a one of a kind decors and wallpaper designs which is so chinese, plus a classy table set up, as if you are in a business dinner meeting in a five star hotel. While enjoying the good ambience, we ordered our food and drinks, as my other friends start doing karaoke. Yes, you heard it right!!!!!we are in a private room with a big tv screen and a speaker system. Our food was serve fast and my friends can't resist the smell and aroma of the authentic chinese way of cooking. To wrap up everything, we finish all the food and drinks, and as we depart, we are still accompanied to the exit door and every staff smile and thanked us for visiting the restaurant. Thank you "CHINESE BISTRO" for a...
