Piatto Restaurant — Restaurant in Makkah Region

I don't go to Piatto that often, but when I do, specifically this branch, I usually see a full on confrontation with the waiters and staff. And one time I did the confrontation myself (if you want something right, do it yourself, as they say).

Speaking from first hand experience, I chose my table, and someone silently comes to my table and puts the menu, no hi, no hello, no nothing.

You go through the brochure, and have your order in mind, you make eye contact (lock eyes), raise your hand, someone sees you (they lock eyes also), then completely ignore you and don't even delegate someone else, happened twice, I swear! I had to smile and start shouting HI, HELLO, ANYONE, to make it less aggressive.

Am in the mood for salad and soup, not in the mood for full on meal because already had a meal in other place earlier, I get a very judgy attitude from the waiters, no complementary lettuce salad or bread sticks, had to ask for them, and was denied the the lettuce salad because "I have to order something" as if I was eating air on thier table. Anyhow, went to the bar, the soup I wanted was empty had to wait for them to refill the pot (so now am working with them to manger their entrée, see how good of a boy I am 😊 sarcastically speaking)

While eating, I enjoyed the voices of disgruntled customer having at it with the staff about who knows what, then she gets tired of all the shouting, where do you think she should be seated? The right answer is on my table 😊 while I was filling my salad dish to get the full Piatto experience 🤌. Literally a night that was so infuriating to the point it started to be comical, like you are scratching your eyes and asking yourself is this really happening? But you see the humor because you are an adult. But what an absolutly bad experience. I'd highly advise to not visit thier until you want to show your teeth not for eating but for other purposes.

If any employee is reading, if, this all happened in Sunday (6/April/2025) between 8:00 PM and 9:00 PM, not sure if you camera in the restaurant or not, my table was near the Gelato section. We ordered the bruschetta pomodoro, onion soup, tomato soup, pesto and goat cheese gnocchi, baked ziti and “chicken peri-peri pollo pollo pizza”

Bruschetta pomodoro 🧄🍅🌿 fresh and delightful 😌 💵 39 SR

Onions soup 🧅🥣 weren’t very happy with it. Its a creamy soup, unlike the French thin-consistency onion soup. Bland 🧂💵 45 SR

Tomato soup 🍅🥣 it’s slightly better than the onion. The soups tasted bland and more like the store-bought (i.e cans or packets) 💵 39 SR

Pesto and goat cheese gnocchi 🥔🌿 was slightly under seasoned 🧂 💵 79 SR

Baked ziti 🥘 Alfredo sauce, bolognese sauce and three cheeses: Parmesan, Pecorino, & Mozzarella. We liked the creaminess of it 🤤🧀🥛 💵 74 SR

Their food size still out standing but the food quality have changed alot, even they still have the big dishes offer but with oily and frozen ingredients which is disappointing, and the bad thing is that although they have contained all the Italian food varieties you will have bad experience with the most of them, and they are nothing compared the original taste indeed, so try it out yourself but with extreme caution, and know well that it's not the original taste of the real Italian food. It is disappointing for me how a marvelous Italian restaurant like Fratelli La Bufala close and such pathetic one still open, first i thought that our community's taste have changed negatively, but it wasn't true as after a while i have realized how the social media scammers have such infamous effect on our community's minds and taste...
