Shrimplus — Restaurant in Municipality of Al Shamal

I recently visited Shrimplus al sahafa and it was such a delightful experience. The seafood was incredibly fresh, well-prepared, and full of flavor. Each dish was cooked to perfection, from the mussels to the shrimp and crab specialties. The presentation was clean and appetizing, and the portion sizes were generous.

The service was also excellent—staff were attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. The atmosphere of the restaurant was cozy and welcoming, making it a perfect spot for both casual dining and special occasions.

This is my second experience in Riyadh with this kind of restaurants. And this restaurant is better than the first but still not the best yet. Good decoration, friendly staff ( most of them Saudi except the servers ). Chair wasn’t that comfortable for me. Service was fast. Regarding the food, I ordered shrimps with white rice, 1 extra corn with cajun flavor, the taste was really good but the shrimps were a little bit hard in peeling and also, I noticed that they are NOT removing the intestine from the shrimps!! Yuck 🤢!! Corn was tasteless and the white rice was lower the normal, I think it should be cooked...

Shrimplus is my to go place for shrimps, but unfortunately one of their best sauces has been ditched away. I asked the cashier why and they said it’s because of the Japanese importer of it (not really sure about the whole story). I have been disappointed by the treatment of the cashier yesterday as he did not let us try the different sauces and we chose the least spicy seasoning and sauce, but ended up having way too spicy for me and my friend, which was disappointing.
