Barbar Beirut — Restaurant in Municipality of Olaya

I recently visited Barbar Beirut with my family for dinner, and while the experience had a few good moments, overall it was just average.

To start with the positives—the staff was welcoming and cooperative, and they made us feel comfortable right from the beginning. However, the restaurant was hard to locate, as there was no name or signage on the board outside. It seemed like the name was there previously but had been removed for some reason, which made it quite confusing to find the place.

As for the food, the serving sizes were on the smaller side, especially considering the prices. We ordered a variety of items: the half grilled chicken on coal with rice was underwhelming—the rice was plain and lacked flavor, which made the dish feel a bit bland overall. On the brighter side, the roast beef sandwich was quite good and stood out as the best item we tried. The coleslaw salad was just okay, nothing special, while the broasted chicken was decent. We also tried the fattoush, which was fresh and flavorful.

I came in for a pleasant restaurant experience to sit and dine and I was utterly disappointed. I ordered a large vegetarian pizza and it looked anemic, under cooked. It was clearly not left in the oven long enough, you can tell just by looking at it. I was given a flimsy plastic knife and fork, not suited for pizza.

I cut through the pizza and the dough was soggy and uncooked. I asked the waiter to take it away and put it back in the oven. It came back this time with a better color. Eating the pizza, you can tell the base was cooked but the dough was still raw in the middle. I have to say, this is the worst pizza I have ever tasted, it was bland, no taste, with a raw base and it gave me nausea. Do not go there to order pizza. The chef obviously has no idea how...

I had a truly wonderful and awesome experience at Barbar Beirut! The food was absolutely delicious — fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, making the dining experience even more enjoyable.
