Intergalactic Diner Novi Beograd — Restaurant in City of Belgrade

I have been at the adjacent hotel for several days, with a group, and this restaurant is the easiest option, so many of us have met up here over those days. I have waited for several experiences, to write a review, because I want to be fair - any restaurant can have a bad day. I am now sure that this place is just awful every day. The decor and atmosphere is great. I feel bad for the owners, because they have obviously spent a lot of money on the restaurant itself. Think...Johnny Rockets. The music is very well chosen and gives that 1950s diner vibe....but that is where it ends. The service is impressively bad. I do not know whether they are under-staffed, under-paid, or not properly trained....but it is awful. Sometimes you can overlook slow service if the staff are friendly and happy....but the service here is ridiculously slow and also very reluctant and dismissive. I cannot comment on the food, because after the first time, waiting nearly an hour for food that never came, I left....and never ordered food again. I ordered a cocktail one time and begged them to bring it quickly, so it only took 15 minutes. Tonight, I ordered 3 double espressos. After 12 minutes, one came. I did not have time to wait for the others, so I just paid for one, and left. I have worked in restaurants for many years, so I know the industry. I counted the staff and looked at the number of tables with guests.....for the staffing ratio, there is no reason the service should be that bad.Two servers should be easily able to provide great service to about 5 four-tops. Either they do not care, or are poorly trained and managed. Ultimately, I blame the management. Such a shame, because this place has potential and a captive audience.....but it does not matter if your food is good, if your guests leave...

We went here today and i was really disappointed with the food.. This is one of the only American style restaurants in Beograd and our appetizer was completely raw when we cut into it... we told the waiter we didn't want it anymore and instead they brought us back the same plate of food just cooked for longer after quite a long wait...and it just didn't look appetizing at all so we couldn't eat it and the plate it was sitting on was soaking in grease water...then the burger i ordered had a terrible sour cheese on it but that was my mistake and i was really embarrassed for making such a silly mistake and i was just ready to go we had waited for a long time at that point.. They tried to make it right and made me a new burger but it took a long time and my husbands food was completely cold by the time they got it to us... i just wanted a refund for my order and the raw appetizer but the server gave us a discount and insisted we wait for a new burger and when they finally brought it to us we just wanted it to go... we had waited another 15mins at our table for them to pack up my new burger after waiting for that... and my husbands leftovers. we didnt understand what the wait was for so we went back up to where my husband paid and our food had been sitting there ready for.. i dont really know how long... we were discounted for our food and the waiter was really nice but my husband still paid 30 USD for the meal and i dont really think it was worth it... sadly i dont think we will be coming...

I was postponing writing this review for a long time (years). And this review is for all Intergalactic Diners in Belgrade and not just this one. I feel in love whit this dinner back in 2016,2017 atmosphere was great recreating american diners from 50-60s the food was great , staff was great. Every time when I was in Belgrade I made a stop in one of Interglactic dinners for food it was a tradition. During pandemic I was not in the restaurant and Belgrade in general for 1-2 years and after I returned 2022-2023 something changed there where no more Onion rings with burgers only fries, buns were without sesami seeds,some items where taken off the menu.I was changing location every time in hope its problem with just one diner, but it was not, it was problem in general. Last night it was new low and i think they lost me forever. I ordered burger as I always did , for the first time they did not ask me what temperature of meat i would want,meat was moderatly warm like it was just reheated and not made on the spot,it was very chewy ,the buns were stone cold , because they were not heated up and did not make that dry protectiv layer they were soggy, very steep decline in quality of the food ,did owner changed , did they decide to cheap out , did they just stopped caring who knows. All does years ago i wrote that this were best burgers in Serbia and now i give 3 stars only beacuse staff and ambient if i were looking just food it...
