We walked in without a reservation and was seated promptly. The highlight of this restaurant was the giant tortoises in the backyard but I cannot sincerely recommend the food. I was surprised to see the number of excellent reviews. The evening we visited they were only serving a Creole menu for two at 800 SCR. All the fish on the menu (parrotfish, tuna steak, red snapper fillet) were underseasoned, dry, and overcooked to the point of no return. It is a waste of fresh ingredients you could get on this island. When asked why the fish was served well done, we were simply told it is always prepared this way. This is simply wrong. The chunks of tuna steak were so dry and tough I would not have been able to tell it was tuna. The aubergine fritters arrived cold, slightly soggy, and tasted bland. The only decent dish was the chicken curry and the mango salad. The curry was flavourful and the chicken was tender. Do not bother with the fresh juices as they are watered down and bland. It was my first time trying a ladob for dessert but I was expecting this to be sweet, creamy, and tender. The banana was unripe, covered in mashed sweet potato, and had a soft crunch and a sour aftertaste. To be fair, overcooked fish seems to be a generic problem across the island and we have not had a decent (seafood) meal for the past two weeks. It is a shame as one would normally expect fish to be cooked to perfection in restaurants located right next to the coast with access to the freshest ingredients from the sea.

We visited this gem of a restaurant last week Friday after returning from La Digue for the day. We wanted somewhere to eat locally and this was recommended by our wonderful car rental company (Doffay car rental ). We didn’t book but we appreciate the lovely Peggy for finding us a table despite them being super busy that day! Marie Antoinette is more than a restaurant - it’s a place that makes you feel like you’re at home! Not to mention the incredible food - everything is cooked to perfection (from the aubergine fritters to the incredible curries to the mango salad & takamaka wings which were just absolutely delicious)🤤 We would definitely recommend this restaurant if you want a taste of authentic creole food whilst in Seychelles!

The Place is gorgeous, beautiful exotic place made out of relaxing summer colors and beautiful wood. Magnificent display of items all around (antiquate lanterns, clocks, ecc) and good attention to detail everywhere including the beautiful exotic flowers and seamless flower napkins in glasses.

Pity this place is a restaurant, if it had been a pub or bar I'd not give it 2 stars, I'd give it more. My reason: it's a fixed menu with a fixed price of 285 sez rupees, something like 21 euros at the local exchange value. Portions were served all at the same time, I believe it was like 7 different small servings scattered all over the table. The idea was nice till the moment I tasted the food. I'm a food maniac, I love good food and pay very good attention to details. I'm very open minded and as I'm son of an Italian mom and American dad, I grew up with a very good flexibility in the spectrum of tastes out there. The fried aubergines were super salty and super oily. The tuna stake tasted like it came out of a can with some kind of ketchup sauce. The curry chicken and potatoes were quite good but too salty. The grilled chicken was very very boring. The mango salad felt like sugar syrup was added to it. The fried fish was good. Another small salad of unknown ingredients was acceptable.

I'm able to push my self and overeat if I like something, even if I don't like it so much, just so I feel like my conscience is ok for the amount of money I spend. But I just couldn't for this food at this place. The taste was poor and salty. Very quick description of the dishes and horrible presentation. I have nothing against anyone in the restaurant, I enjoyed the evening a lot! However I'll never recommend eating there ever. It's a big waste of money and the food barely resembles the local creole food. I'd recommend going there for drinks and enjoy the...

This is the best restaurant I've been to so far in Seychelles. This a buffet-style meal, with a good variety of foods. There were Aubergine Fritters,Battered parrot fish,Tuna steak,Fish(I got Red Snaper), Chicken curry,Fish stew with vegetables,Rice and a salad(I got mango). Here's a overview of the foods:

Aubergine Fritters:4.0-Good There was eggplant in them however there wasn't much, still good however.

Battered parrot fish:4.5-5.0-Very good-Excellent The fish had a very good taste and was soft.It was very good.

Tuna steak:4.0-Good The tuna had a good taste but I believe the sauce was a bit too much. The sauce had the taste of ketchup but other than that,it was very good.

Fish(Red Snaper):5.0-Excellent The fish had a good taste and the sauce helped a lot as well.

Chicken Curry:4.5-Very Good The chicken was whole so you needed to take the meat off the bones, other than that it was great.

Fish stew with vegetables:3.0-Below Average The only disappointing item that I got.The vegetables and fish were bland, and I felt they were a little too tough.

Rice: It's rice, what do you expect?

Mango salad:4.5-Very Good I don't particularly enjoy mango salad, but compared to other mango salads I have tasted,it was very good.

Oh,and there were tortoises at the back, very nice to see that.

I definitely recommend this as a place to eat with...
