Sam's Pizzeria — Restaurant in Mahé

We were glad that this place was open, as we didn't find anything along our walk. We were seated and given a table straight away, the staff were friendly and then we were then forgotten about, as they got busy serving other tables with more people on them. We noted other customers also had to wait for their food to arrive. The atmosphere was calm and pleasant. I noted staff were always occupied with a task so it's not like they were idle. We just felt completely neglected. We waited 25 minutes for our order to be taken, just as we were thinking of leaving. We sat entertaining ourselves for another hour and 5 mins before food arrived, even then they forgot the drinks. The saving grace was the quality of the food served in the end. We didn't wait for the bill to arrive. On leaving we were charged for double drinks, because we had to remind them about the missing drinks and it was calculated as a second drink. The miscommunication between staff was all rectified and apologies given to us. I just didn't enjoy the lack of hospitality given to us. Good location but very poor service. We (party of 6 with 2 kids) were told that we couldn't have drinks from outside. As we were being told my daughter had been sipping water from her water bottle. The waiter rudely gestured at her. We offered to buy an extra bottle of water if they'd let the kids have their water because we'd been walking outside in the heat. The waiter simply refused to let our kids have water even if we bought an extra bottle. So we decided to leave. They are entitled to their rules but this type of inflexibility when it comes to accommodating kids is just poor in my opinion. We went there so you do NOT have to go there!!! That this restaurant is still open is a huge mystery for me. Workers there are looking reality show on the tv super load and do not turn it off when guest arrives, do not know very well English. Pizza dough is a finished peace and the chef just add the ordered topping on it, bacon was just fat and no meat. I got 4 small pieces of ribs that was precooked, not even warm when served and the have they the balls to change higher prices then what is standing on the menu. I highly recommend you to NOT go there and I mean this for you own good and to spend that money on something waaaay...
