20/9/25 @ 7.20pm - Took SBS bus all the way from Pasir Ris to JIN Kimchi Express Tampines branch to meet my daughter for dinner after seeing the owner's video on Instagram promoting his fresh kimchi, online shop and a few physical stall outlets in SG. Read some good reviews too but did not specifically read the Tampines branch reviews. When I reached there I was surprised that there was no long queue and inside the shop is a little bit dark. I saw a guy went up to the stall and asked something and then walk away. I'm curious to know why he walked away so fast without placing his order. When I walked up to the stall, I saw a lady was handling the grab orders and only I chef in the kitchen. When the lady saw me, I told her I want to order and she told me need to wait 1hr. I was very shocked for a moment then walked away. I saw many Grab orders receipt hanging at the kitchen area and I was very disappointed because only 2 staffs were around and could not cope with walk in customers order since they have to handle all the online orders. In the end I did not get to try the Korean food. Decided to walk to other nearby coffee shop for dinner. Before I write this review, I was reading the Google reviews for the Tampines branch and it seems quite bad standard of Korean food. I think QC needs to be done on the authenticity of the food. Glad that I did not get to order or else my dinner will be a dissapointment. Wanted to give a zero star but the system doesn't allow me to post my review without a...
Read moreSo⌠I took about 20-30 mins to come to this outlet to try after watching on TikTok. I tried their Dak Galbi set and their Jin signature kimchi stew set.
Dak Galbi: 2/5 Chicken was tender and had good taste⌠however, nothing fantastic about it and gosh the amount of oil on that dish. Albeit Iâm not a Korean food fanatic. However, the photo will show⌠itâs really damn oily lehh!! I felt like I would get a heart attack after this meal.
Kimchi stew: 2/5 Pork didnt taste nice⌠still had the âporkâ taste for lack of a better word. Like I said, not a Korean food fanatic. But I feel like it could have been done better. The soup was too sour as well. But hats-off to them they put in quite an amount of pork belly.
Conclusion: Felt like it wasnât worth the time traveling here. The service staff wasnât as friendly as well. But meh⌠here for the food anyways⌠but I guess itâs a good budget Korean food stall? Just donât expect it to be really good. Mid at best.

Read moresaw that a Korean place opened near my place, so decided to try it for lunch today!
we ordered (prices are from my memory, it's a rough gauge but everything was less than $10 each):
bulgogi set ($8) bulgogi was super flavourful and tender, it had a good meat to rice ratio as well! i also loved the kimchi that came with it. my brother & i loved it!
soondubu jjigae ($7) soup was not as thick as i would've liked it to be, but it was honestly still pretty good. my mum loved it! had 4-5 mussels, 3 prawns and soft tofu + egg. came with rice and kimchi too, honestly super worth the price.
kimchi fried rice ($6) came with seaweed flakes and a fried egg, honestly didn't have a lot of flavour but for $6 it's quite ok! there is no meat included as well, but you can add on for $2.50 (if i rmb correctly).
overall, would definitely patronise this stall again when i'm craving Korean since it's good for their...
