Read moreDonkey and I stumbled upon Jin Yu Man Tang Dessert after dinner, and boy, were we glad we did! This little dessert shop, tucked away in a cozy corner, surprised us with its unique and delicious treats.
We were immediately drawn to the shop's charming and inviting atmosphere. The air buzzed with the aroma of sweet delights, and the cozy seating area beckoned us to relax and enjoy.
Being the adventurous one, I couldn't resist trying three unique desserts: the Deep Fried Milk, the Fried Custard with Red Bean, and the Sweet Glutinous Mixed Rice Balls.
The deep-fried milk was a revelation! It was a delightful combination of savory and sweet, with a rich, creamy milk flavor that was unlike anything we'd had before. The Fried Custard with Red Bean was equally impressive. The custard was soft and fragrant, and the red bean added a lovely touch of sweetness.
But the real star of the show was the Sweet Glutinous Mixed Rice Balls. Served with chrysanthemum and a hint of ginger, they were a refreshing and delicate delight. We usually have glutinous rice balls in ginger soup, so this was a welcome change. We loved that the desserts weren't overly sweet, making them even more enjoyable.
While we've read some mixed reviews about the service, we didn't personally encounter any issues. There's not much service beyond table service, but it was perfectly adequate for our needs.
Overall, Jin Yu Man Tang Dessert is a hidden gem that we highly recommend. The unique and delicious desserts, coupled with the cozy atmosphere, make it a perfect spot to end your day on a sweet note.

Read moreIf you just had a spicy meal, then getting dessert here is a must! It was my first time coming here and I left feeling really happy! This place was a little cramped because of how small the restaurant was (they placed each table really close to one another). They have outdoor seating, though. In addition, the dining area and the bathroom were pretty clean!
Now, the food:
Fried Milk (10/10): This dish was my favorite among all of the ones we ordered. It tastes literally like fresh milk made into sticks and then fried. The texture tasted like pudding and it wasn't too sweet, which was great! I got addicted to this dish and kept ordering fried milk in every other dessert stores. However, the fried milk in other restaurants just can't match the ones served here!
Mango with mini rice balls (9/10): This was pretty good, I just wish it was a little bit sweeter (the rice balls were awesome though!). So, if you are looking for a healthy option, this is one option!
Double layered pudding + Papaya (9.5/10): This was great! I enjoyed it thoroughly! The papaya was fresh and tasty.
Peach gum w/ milk (10/10): For those of you that don't know the benefits of peach gum, look it up! You will want this because of the various health benefits. It tastes like soft beef tendons at times but I loved it. The sweetness was just right for this one!
Overall, if you prefer healthier desserts than ice cream, then this place would hopefully exceed your expectations! Totally recommended! I am for sure coming back here the next time I...
