Yummy mala! Pretty cheap too with good quality and fresh ingredients and wide variety of choices, unlike other overpriced mala stalls. The stall at this coffeeshop is Dragon-Fly Mala Fragrant Hot Pot. The zhong la delivers ample kick and is garlicky. Xiao la is manageable even for people who don't usually eat spicy. For 2 pax serving with reasonable amount of meat it's usually just slightly over 10 bucks, and for 3 pax it's below 20 bucks. Naturally the price will go up if you order more meat, but I think it's very affordable still!
On the coffeeshop in general, it's usually crowded and rowdy during peak meal times. There's a smoking area. The location is also easily accessible from the main road and multistorey car park just beside it. Char Grill Western stall often has a long queue. Cleanliness wise, it's not so great, as the coffeeshop tables often have some food specks left that you need to clean by yourself, but...
Read moreExcellent quality prawn mee here from 老三虾面 will always try to stop over to eat this whenever I happen to pass by this area..The drinks ladies also very nice and hardworking going around taking drinks order-- great for 1 person very hard to jus walk away from the table just to buy drinks esp when rushin for time and nobody to help look after the food and bag esp against the birds flying around waiting to steal food from our plates once u walk away from it and the birds may just land on your food or peck on it which happened to me before in Jurong East (horrible full of birds) I had a horrible experience I had to throw away the entire bowl of duck noodles. Overall pleasant friendly ambience and nice food. Havent tried other food but will try if have a chance. Nice design for the...
Read moreNeighbourhood Coffee Shop. Some stalls are better than others. Fried chicken and mixed veggie rice stalls save the day. New hokkien mee/char kway teow is decent. Prawn noodles broth is great. Uncle KKM is also located here. I personally don't understand the hype nor long queues. Porridge sold is half bland so you will need to add your own soya sauce to suit your taste buds. Have tried multiple times and I would recommend you skip the DimSum(soggy) and the Yong Tou Fu stalls based on personal taste and texture preference. Atmosphere isn't great as there's just wayyyy too much smokers /smoking area where the smoke will be blown into the non-smoking area just based on the general wind direction. More of a setup issue than a...
