Located in a quiet alleyway, this hidden café has high quality plated desserts and artisanal drinks! A quiet hideout perfect for a little teatime. ☕️
What I tried
🍯 Madu [ Horlicks Cream, Honey Caramel, Cornflakes Crumble Base all covered in Caramalized White Chocolate ]
Essentially a combination of light cream and a thick caramel cornflake cookie crust. The white chocolate coating melts instantly in your mouth. The thick cornflake crust was the highlight: so crunchy and delicious! It is overall quite sweet but pretty satisfying— If you have a sweet tooth, you’d like this.
I also enjoyed the ice cream it was served with!
🍋 Tart [ Almond tart shell, extra virgin olive oil almond cake, citrus cream and lime zest. ]
Definitely one well executed lemon tart! Pretty sour and creamy with a hard cookie crust. I found it a bit too sour at first but it grew on me and I found myself enjoying it towards the end. This tart is also served with a scoop of sweet ice cream which helped to balance the flavours. 👍
Recommend getting this with some tea or coffee, it’s perfect!
🤎 Canelé [ Dark rum, Vanilla ]
Surprisingly really, realllllly good!!!! 👍 Crispy outside and just the right amount of sweetness. Definitely adding this spot onto my list of the best canelés in Singapore!
🍫 Roco [ Whipped chocolate ganache, Chocolate custard, Hazelnut praline, Hazelnut sponge and Hazelnut chocolate crumble ]
Tastes like a Kinder Bueno, complete with different chocolatey layers of cream, crunch and sponge. Really nice too!
Definitely recommend Nickel for a little tea break if you’re in the area. I love their lychee tea too! The place is peaceful, inviting and I enjoyed their playlist! Great for solo dates or for conversations. I’ll be back for their viennoiseries!

Read moreHad tried this once before when they were still at Jurong, and I remember I enjoyed it very much back then. I was delighted after they moved to Middle Road, as their current location is much more convenient. Overall, the quality of their desserts is still high, and is definitely a good place to go to for afternoon tea!
Here's what we tried: • Otto: This was my favourite, it tasted as good as it looked. The pistachio taste was really fragrant, and I finished all the cream even though I'm usually not a big fan of it. I loved how light this dessert was, I didn't feel jelak at all from this. • Tart: I personally enjoyed this, but I must warn those who have a low tolerance for sour treats, this might be a tad bit too sour for you. While it was good, I can't say it was outstanding, so this isn't a must order. • Kouign Amann: I would probably skip this on my next visit as it was the least enjoyable. It didn't really taste like the traditional kouign amann, but reminded me more of a mix between a croissant and a brioche. • Iced Chocolate: This was surprisingly good, though the portion was really small. It was thirst quenching and not too sweet and rich.
We visited on a weekend in the afternoon and it was really crowded, but managed to get a seat after a while. I wouldn't recommend this as a place to chill and chit chat as the seating layout can make it slightly difficult to do so (a fair number of seats are counter seats). There is also a dining time limit during peak hours.
Overall, I'll definitely be back if I'm in the area and am craving...
Read moreAn unassuming (the exterior is painfully plain), hole-in-the-wall café that’s been around since 2018 in the Jurong neighbourhood. Came across this cafe from TikTok, and was intrigued by the minimalistic interior and beautiful cakes they offer. I ordered a Madu (honey holicks cake) that looks like a hexagonal slab of cheese and a Kouigab Amann (maple cinnamon bun). The cinnamon bun arrived at the table first, and it smelled divine. It was warm, aromatic and beautifully sat on a tiny plate that’s exactly the right proportion to the bun 😆 it was flaky and crunchy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside. I had to intentionally slow myself down so that I could savour the aroma. Absolutely coming back for this again!
Then, Madu arrived, and it was gorgeously placed on a honeycomb pattern that’s created onto the plate with probably honey or syrup, accompanied by a scoop of ice cream at the side. The texture was great, with a creamy exterior and loads of crunchy (and gooey) goodness inside. I don’t know what exactly I ate, but whatever it was, it was delicious!
There’re not many items to choose from on the menu, but they know what they’re doing, and they are focused on delivering quality. If you’re driving, try to park opposite the cafe at the HDB carpark. The one behind the cafe is tiny with...
