It was simply unbelievable what had happened yesterday evening. I’m over 20 years in Singapore and I have never ever had such an unprofessional, impolite service encounter. The waiter who took the order seamed to unhappy to work at all. My son and I got the beers very quickly. After 15 minutes we asked if we could get the truffle fries we ordered as an appetizer. Another waiter came, apologized that our appetizer has not been taken up as order. After some 5 minutes we got our fries. 20 minutes later my son got his burger. He ordered it with truffle fries! Unfortunately no truffle fries had been on it so it went back for replacement. 5 minutes later he got what he ordered. I asked the new (3rd ) waiter that came to bring my sons burger where my chicken burger is. “Oh it’s getting just ready, I check” the waiter mentioned. Wow he immediately came back, told me that he is sorry but my burger was also missing on the order!!!!! My son finished his burger and I got mine. How great to have dinner together!! I asked the waiter to send me the Manager. Another lady came and told me that there is no Manager on duty but she could give me a 10 % discount on the food. I asked her to rather have a free beer as I have to eat now my burger without a drink as it was now more then 45 minutes into the evening. She simply told me that she can only give me the 10 % discount and went off. After having finished my burger, I ordered the bill and asked for the name card of the Manager (which by the way is Mr. Dipan). Handing over my credit card, the most rudest waiter of all told me that they do not accept credit card, only cash or NETS. Having asked him where it is mentioned that they do not accept my VISA card, he rudely replied, we DO NOT accept credit card. Again I asked him where it was written that they do not accept credit cards. Now the answer was, SORRY the machine is down. DEAR MANAGEMENT, YOU HAVE A SERIOUS ISSUE WITH YOUR STAFF. I have the strong feeling you are lacking of professional training of your employees! Having no Manager on duty, you could see that all your staff is rather texting messages on their phones then to attend the guests. To mentioned the last bad encounter yester evening, waiter F. told me that he apologize for the missing food order and I would have to accept it. I told him that I do not have to accept his apology and he started to lecture me that if he is apologizing as a man, I would have to accept...
Read moreI haven't written a review in a few years. Usually, the restaurant or bar is exceptionally good or bad, then I would be compelled to write a review. In this case, the service of Beerfest@Rochester Park is so abhorrent that I felt a public duty to warn others from going there and waste their time and money. I was at this poor excuse of a restaurant on 3 September. started with the waiter handing me a menu to consider and said he'll return to take the order. Meanwhile, my friends who were there earlier were waiting for their food and beer to arrive. One of friends warned me against ordering the weisbier because it tastes like sour piss. I tasted it and thought she was rather harsh in her assessment. After a while, the waiter served their order and neglected to take mine as he had promised. I called him back and ordered a lager. Then he asked me which lager I want. I replied there's only one lager. He didn't believe me and examine the menu to find that there was lo and behold only one lager! After a few minutes about 9.30 pm, he came to ask if there's any last order for food as the kitchen is going to close. Then at 10.30 pm, a waitress with a name tag that says 'Dhillon' came and asked for last order because the bar will close at 11.30 pm. I thought it was pretty early to ask for last order but we ordered. Slightly after 11.00 pm. She came with the bill. I gave my credit card and she informed me that there will be additional charge of 3%. I found that strange as I have not come across any restaurant or bar imposing this extra charge but my friends offered to pay cash. Then at 11.25 pm the fans were turned off and we had to finish our drinks in unpleasant warmth. My friends took turns to go to the toilet. I went last but 'Dhillon', she told me she has locked the toilet. She told me to go to another one further away. By then, my patience with her rudeness ran out. I asked her why is she chasing us away? She replied she has a bus to catch and walked away. I asked her for her name and she refused to give me but went into the kitchen closing the door behind her. I understand that serving customers is not an easy task but if they are not happy with the job then they shouldn't be in the service industry. The experience last night at Beerfest left a bad taste. Poor service. Rude staff. This place don't...
Read moreWell, I hate to write bad reviews, let me just say. But I came here twice, the food the first time was OK, but not the best. It takes them an extraordinary amount of time to make the food. However, the service table manners are amazing, so I did not mind. I came a second time, and this is where the place really disappointed me. Much of the menu is unavailable, which is why I came (I had seen all their delicious options online), and has left me disappointed. I ordered a beef cheek because the lamb I wanted was not available on the very small lunch menu (the larger dinner menu from my first visit also had many things missing). The salad that came was good, I wanted the seafood chowder soup, they said ok, a lovely lady tells me after I ordered, actually, they do not have that anymore, so I changed to the minestrone soup, It was pretty good. But the big disappointment was the beef cheek. It was dry, it was bland, it tasted not just like nothing, it tasted bad. It made me feel sick eating it. I could barely finish. It was hard, it tasted stale, what it tasted and looked like was old meat or frozen meat or both. I did not get sick from it, perhaps I am being picky. But given the vibe because they have so many items missing, I figured this meat probably was a bit past its prime and should not have been prepared or served. The lady saw I could barely finish, she even asked if it was bad, like she already knew the meat would not be good, she did not seem surprised at all, just somewhat embarassed. She asked me how the meal is and I told her the meat is in fact really bad. She told me she would tell the chef. Then I asked for the bill and she still made me pay for the dish that I could barely eat and said was inedible for me.That really annoyed me. If they had taken the dish off the bill I would not even be writing this review. I did not appreciate that. The table manners are excellent in general, but this specific experience is why I am giving them 3 stars for service. I would have overlooked this and eaten there again cuz their soups and salads are good, but now I will never return. I feel somewhat treated unfairly and this is not how you should treat customers in my opinion. Perhaps you disagree with me, but this is how I feel. So, I will...
