I was walking around Merlion Park and came here for dinner after. A 5-minute walk from there. A fiesta of Mexican flavours, a riverside Cocina inspired by the colourful cuisine of Mexico! I booked an outdoor table which was nice for the views but a little warm. Sit inside for the air conditioning. I had the chips & salsa which comprised crispy tortilla chips, guacamole, salsa roja and spicy piña and one baja fish taco with crispy crumbed barramundi, chilli mango salsa, mint, cabbage and chipotle mayo. To drink I had a non-alcoholic white peach ginger soda. The chips & salsa were nice. I enjoyed this. The chips were slightly warmed. The portion was too big for one person, better to share. The taco not so good. It was bland and dry and not like the Mexican flavours you would expect. I have been to Mexico a few times. Sanchos in Clarke Quay is a lot better if you are looking for Mexican food in Singapore. My white peach ginger soda was watery. I could taste only a subtle peach and ginger flavour. Service was hit and miss. Apart from the lady who mainly served me, not one other member of staff smiled nor had any interaction or conversations with guests. They were almost 'robotic' like and miserable. Just doing the job for the sake of it. Once I had my food, I struggled to get anyone's attention to give me cutlery! I had to ask three times for the bill. They were not that busy and there were more than enough staff! For views and the chips & salsa, then yes! Otherwise, I would recommend going to Sanchos in Clarke Quay which is a lot better! They also have halal chicken and beef if you are...
Read moreI want to commend Nigel for his excellent service. He consistently checked on us and ensured we had a great dining experience. Keep up the great work!
However, this is not a verygood dining experience. When we arrived, our table wasn’t ready, and we had to wait. Despite requesting multiple times to sit closer to the front and we are willing to wait since I had 4 guests visiting Singapore for the first time and had chosen this place for the Marina view still we were seated at the back.
Additionally, I mentioned that we had two birthday celebrants and requested hats, along with ordering a cake. Unfortunately, I did not receive a helpful or polite response from your staff member, Tasha. She was rude, even saying she needed to move on to the next customer, which felt dismissive and embarrassing.
Just a few days ago, I celebrated my husband’s birthday at your Robertson Quay branch and had a wonderful experience with a lovely birthday surprise. One reason why I chose to celebrate my guests birthday here as well.
Tasha informed me that the “hat” was no longer available due to hygiene reasons, which I understood. I was willing to purchase two hats at $10 each, but I asked her once again if its ok we borrow as we only needed them for photos. However, she dismissed me before I could finish speaking, leaving me disappointed. I still end up buying it anyway.
We spent $293, and unfortunately, this dining experience was not worth it. I was excited to share this place with my guests, but this experience has left me with a...
Read moreRevisited them on 5th May and wanted to introduce my friends to this place since I used to rave so much about them and holy shit the standard has dropped so much since the last time I came here in late December last year 😭
Host was giving mean girl vibe and gave us the worst place outside to sit at in some sad corner facing some buildings, we made our reservation a week in advance for 3 people for a Monday evening?? I asked her for some other seats and she said they were full house which I find it hard to believe and also did they book MORE than a week in advance? The table next to us was so loud and rowdy which I even complained about but nothing was done and so there we sat 💀
Now the food… wow you all are so cheap now 🤡 lion mane taco ($10) used to come in pairs but now only 1?? Roasted cauliflower ($8) used to come in a big plate but now comes in a small pathetic rice bowl.
We wanted to stay for the mains but our experience was so terrible that we left after having some starters and a jug of Margherita. Total bill came up to $150 for 3 people for some loser servings of side dishes, a jug of Margherita and a beer?? It’s ridiculous.
In the end we hopped off to Da Michele for some pizza. Paid lesser, wayyyyyyyyy better customer service where the staff actually smiled and automatically filled up our waters and ofcourse amazing food.
Really regret coming to this place and wasting our money. Even my friend whom I recommended to come here with me made fun of me for recommending...
