Visited the venue for dinner on a weekend. It's located in a quiet neighborhood slightly off the main road.
Venue is cosy and has a longer interior then it looks.
The service crew were friendly and prompt but our experience were unfortunately marred by the service manager. He isn't unfriendly or inattentive per se. We however faced discrimination in service. It appears he has a preferred set of customers, whereby they were accorded preferential treatment, introductions to "off the menu" items and daily specials whereas we were simply handed a menu. On our exit, our compliments were met with an obligatory "thanks". Somehow, another set of customers were sent off with very grateful thank yous.
That said, we ordered the calzone, carbonara pasta and the tiramisu. The wait wasn't too long and we were served complimentary sourdough bread. The service crews attending to us were nice and one even made us very comfortable. We could feel his smiles even behind the masks.
The calzone is impressive, especially so when you slice it open yourself. The hot pockets of steam rising up teases your taste buds of what is inside. The crust is nicely baked and the base is coated generously with cheese. The ham were flavourful and tenderly juicy.
The carbonara pasta was well done too. Right when it was set on the table before us, I could catch a whiff of mature cheese. It's not the creamy, wet sort of pasta you get elsewhere. Every mouthful is well coated with the pungent cheese and cream. Balanced with pepper and topped with ham, the dish exhibited depth and homeliness.
The tiramisu came with a fantastic mascarpone. Rich and creamy yet the mouthful is light. The sponge fingers are a tad dry on the top layer. This dessert requires digging. Once you hit the bottom layer, where it's soaked with the coffee liqueur, the tiramisu finally reveals its true character. That said, you might want to have a friend to share it with. The dry top layer could be a bit harsh to get through alone.
Come if you are a regular/preferred customer since you definitely get the specials.
Price is on the high side. Passive discrimination is not something I will tolerate. So I would not recommend paying pretty coin for that sort of ethics.

Read moreFirst and last time going here. Just had dinner earlier there for 2. For $180 paid we had pizza, lasagne, calamari, salmon pasta and tiramisu. It was really overpriced and not really authentic Italian food at all. There wasn’t even a traditional wood oven pizza and pizZa seems like it was pre-prepared and just heated to serve; ingredients was cold (and definitely not because of the air-conditioning). Calamari ($21 ++ for 8-9 small pieces) was overpriced and not tasty and even additional tartar sauce which came in a small saucer need us to pay extra? salmon fettuccine was really below average there wasn’t an ounce of salmon on it so basically $28++ for just fettuccini pasta. Lasagne’s pastry was soggy (sauce was nice) but definitely should not belong to chef’s recommend list which was laughable. Tiramisu ($13 ++ after charges etc) was a small dollop on a bowl came full of cream and doesn’t have proper tiramisu layers and definitely cannot taste the liquer inside. Please save your money and head elsewhere for authentic Italian food which cost either the same or lower price but quality definitely matters. They should not charge so expensive for such quality (perhaps to cover cost since not many customers?). When we reach most of the customers were just drinking wine. Perhaps that explains why standards are low no one really orders food. Oh btw authentic Italian restaurants at this price range usually serve nice pipping hot bread rolls or bread sticks but they only give 4 measly thin slices of white bread (baguette type) that we dipped into balsamic vinegar that’s already rancid. Please see that the better reviews were all many months before so I guess the restaurant’s standard has gone...
Read moreI had my birthday dinner at Trattoria da Mimmo Restaurant, at Clover Way.
Chef Mimmo and his team serves an authentic, home-style Italian dishes in a cozy and lovely restaurant.
The service staff were very attentive and were very good. The ambience of the restaurant is like having your meal in a vineyard.
We enjoyed all the food that Chef Mimmo and his assistant cooked for us. All the food was yummy, delicious and authentic.
We had
Insalata Giorno was fresh and crisp and refreshing
Burrata Pugliese Con Parma. The cheese was creamy and paired with the saltiness of the Parma ham was absolutely delicious.
Fritto di Calamari. The batter was just nice and was nicely fried, crispy on the outside and chewy inside. It was nicely seasoned too.
The 2 pizzas were classic Italian thin crust pizza, crispy outside with a nice soft, chewy interior. Their tomato base was yummy.
The spaghetti and pasta dishes were very good and delicious. The spaghetti and pasta were cooked al dente.
Cote de Bouef was grilled to perfection “medium” done. It was juicy and tasted superb on its own.
Nodino Di Maiale was seasoned well and taste...
