TLDR: I gave 4 stars to much worse restaurants in Košice and Bratislava. You should definitely try this, this one is better than 4. I guess the chef is top "feature" here.

(I can't give 4.5 stars to this one, or change rating to 3 stars for hundreds of restaurants rated before).

Very nice location, by town historical walls, 5~10 minute drive from the highway.

Very interesting menu, broad list of meals even though the pandemic has not ended yet... In addition to many traditional Slovak dishes in it, you'll find chef's specialties. From the description you'd think you ate the same meal elsewhere two weeks ago. However, even the small soup will surprise you. Every meal is served perfectly, it's innovative and tasty. I'll take some pics next time, I was in a hurry.

The missing 5th star is for unusually slow personnel response, or maybe I expected them to be more interested in our needs. "more servicing" and asking. The waiting time for them noticing I need something was simply below my expectancies.

One thing that cannot cost them a star was a mixed salad served with my and my partner's meal. In fact, it's complimentary, that's why I can't devaluate my overall rating. It was something like mix of coleslaw salad (which I love), and a fresh vegetable salad (sixth of a tomato, and nicely chopped white cabbage and cucumber). I'd rather choose half of the salad serving. It would be of a great help to have chef's recommendations on one page in menu :) e.g. for steaks: "chef recommends coleslaw salad"

Again, hats off for the chef. He just needs some help to promote this place I guess.

I can't wait to stop by again soon. I hope I'll update...

We stopped by for a lunch, very nice environment, very nice terrace, first we were sitting at the sun, but then after the table got free, we got the nice shadow on the terrace.

As it was lunch time, we have been waiting a bit longer, but that is okay. After ordering a la carte - soups and main dish, we have been waiting for 30 minutes and when I wanted to ask if they havent forgotten about the soups, the waitress brought immediately the main dish and was very surprised when I said we didnt have the soups yet.

After that the gentleman that was taking the order came to apologize and said, that the "ticket got lost". This was really a disappointment as believe it or not, since we came that morning from Spišská, we have been dreaming about the garlic soup as we love it. But we definitely didnt want the soup AFTER the main dish, so I cancelled it.

The food is nice, tasty, service is a bit slower, but the environment makes it easy to wait - especially if you have a nice cold beer.

Space for improvement is definitely the toilet :-)

Not sure if we will be back next time, but thank you for the nice...

The place was buzzing with locals, which is always a good sign of a traditional spot. The menu was extensive, and the waiters were not only really nice but also spoke excellent English. They offered thoughtful and helpful recommendations, which made the experience even better.

I ordered a meat dish, and it was absolutely delicious. The garlic creamy soup was also a highlight—I found myself wishing for more after finishing it. The portions were generous, and the overall atmosphere was very relaxed, especially in the summer, making it a super enjoyable experience.

To top it all off, the restaurant is located within the old city walls, so you get a great view while you dine. If you’re looking for authentic food with great service and a fantastic setting, this place is definitely...

The garlic soup tasted great, but the bread in the bowl was stale and kinda weird. However I really regretted ordering the pork steak with cheese, potato pancakes, and green beans. The saltiness of everything was insane, my mouth was on fire and I struggled to finish the meal. Maybe it was the gravy which drenched the plate. Also, the potato pancakes tasted a lot like frozen hash browns. Service itself was fine, the waitress was friendly enough and the inner atmosphere was ok, aside from the housefly which kept buzzing me. Maybe I chose the wrong thing to eat, I wish I would have tried the varenyky with sheep cheese instead.
