My salmon pokè bowl was tasty but my husband did not enjoy his burger. The patty tasted like mince and the roll was a ciabatta type roll that should rather have been a soft burger roll.
They do not seem to be clued up about gluten-free. I ordered the salmon poké bowl but asked them to please leave the kimchi off as it can have gluten in and also the soy sauce as this normally contains gluten.
However, the food came with both. Fortunately, the soy was in a little container that I put aside, but I had to avoid the kimchi and food touching it as I was not sure if it had soy in it or gluten. My husband asked the waitress if the soy sauce was gluten-free , thinking It might be the vital original that is gluten-free. She came back and said, "The chef says it does have gluten, but only a little bit." Something either contains gluten or does not.
I urge you to please educate yourselves on what gluten-free means as many people are intolerant or have a serious autoimmune condition called celiac disease. No amount of gluten is safe for someone with Celiac. When asked by a patron to leave something off, they are not being fussy or difficult, but just trying to avoid getting sick, while still wanting to enjoy their meal.
Our waitress was also not very friendly. I doubt we will ever pop...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at the new Lounah Café restaurant on Paarl Main Road, and I was thoroughly impressed with the overall experience. The food was excellent, with a wide range of tasty and satisfying options to choose from. The lunch dishes, in particular, were outstanding, with lots of fresh flavors and ingredients.
The service at Lounah Café was also excellent. The staff were friendly and attentive, and they were happy to answer any questions we had about the menu. The restaurant itself was nice and airy and inviting, with an open and welcoming atmosphere.
In terms of pricing, I found Lounah Café to be quite reasonable. The prices were comparable to other restaurants in the area, and I felt that the quality of the food and the service were well worth the cost. I also enjoyed trying the French vanilla iced coffee and the iced chai latte, both of which were delicious.
Overall, I highly recommend the new Lounah Café restaurant on Paarl Main Road. The food and service were top-notch, and the comfortable atmosphere and reasonable prices made for a truly enjoyable dining experience. I will definitely be returning to this restaurant...
Read moreThis is my second TERRIBLE experience at this place. Went to Lounah cafe yesterday and we arrived at the coffeeshop around 13h50 (1h10mins before closing). We spoke to a manager as we needed to find out something from them and proceeded to take a seat. The manager ended up taking our order for 2 coffees and a slice of their cake before going around the corner to she speak to a waitress. 5mins later the waitress comes by our table and says,"sorry out barista switched off the coffee Machine."
So WHY DID THIS MANAGER TAKE OUR ORDER AND THEN HAVE A WAITRESS TELL US THAT THEY CAN'T MAKE OUR ORDER 1 HOUR BEFORE CLOSING ? I can understand if it was 15mins before but 1 hour ? And they didn't even try to assist. Well done to the manager and waitress for chasing customers away for a second bad experience in 1 year. Congrats. Food is terrible because we didn't even get to try it. Second time that I didn't get to have a coffee there as I was chased away the first time for wanting to LOOK AT THE MENU and this time chased away due...
