Olive Tree Lodge — Hotel in Drakenstein Local Municipality

With the recent Marius Schoeman sports festival hosted Paarl Gim, we were pleasantly surprised with what I thought would be a mundane and typical accommodationchoice. But this was anything but.

I arrived to my accommodation as a late check-in after midnight and was pleasantly greeted and introduced to the modus operandi in a polite and professional manner.

I slept like a baby.

The beds are comfortable, with backup power that had no influence on my needs along with free and stable Wi-Fi.

Everything from the rooms, the gardens and overall cleanliness was top notch.

My family was absolutely spoiled rotten by the manager and host Wilma who was the real star 🌟 of the show along with her willing and able kitchen attendants.

Breakfast is made to order and though simple...I was missing them day 1 back home. Freshly prepared to order and promptly served with plunged filter coffee made it seem like I was dining in the Italian countryside.

3 nights was too short to truly appreciate the care, warmth and SA hospitality I sometimes take for granted.

Wilma, you guys have managed to sneak a piece of Paarl into my heart and will definitely make my choice of accommodation when next I'm in Paarl , Olive Tree Lodge.

If you are simply travelling through or have a wedding to attend in the area as I did, look no further than the Olive Tree Lodge. Extremely affordable/fairly priced compared to the rest of the establishments surrounding the area. The service is impeccable, I was attended to fast upon arrival, and given a quick and easy walkthrough of the area. You have private parking available, with your own remote to open the various gates to said parking spots, which was extraordinary given I was coming back late following the wedding I was attending.||||If/when I come back for another wedding I will definitely be booking with the Olive Tree Lodge. Communication was a huge challenge from the start. Made booking via Booking.com - Lodge does not respond to any messages or requests. We had to cancel our booking due to a tournament's location that moved. Receptionist said that the lodge will deduct a service fee and refund the balance. Booking.com also tried to cancel the booking but the Lodge was not willing to negotiate. If the Lodge communicated with us we would have rather stayed for the 3 nights knowing they will NOT refund us but the Lodged only responded after check-out date.
