Pirates Arms — Restaurant in Durban Central

First visitors this place in April this year. Food was good, affordable and service was excellent. Since then I have frequented three times. Firstly there was oil in my tea pot. The standard menu, changed and food took forever to arrive and was not cooked properly. Called the manager, she was having personal problems and her child was sick. No apology, when asked for email add or owners details. Only advise is to post on Facebook or Website. The second time, we were told that that place only opens at 11. They still busy cleaning. Mind you we were looking for breakfast. Last time took a friend for her birthday worse choice to give them another chance. Food took forever to come more than an hour.(we were the only two in the store.) The order came out in portions, toast arrived almost 15minutes after the food. The egg was raw and sent back twice. The sausage was raw and sent back twice only arrived after the whole meal. When I called manager she first disappeared for 30 minute then arrived to apologized , Nosipho said she had her monthly periods therefore she took long. Again when asked for details the owner Pat Pillay is not contactable. Dont be fooled by the specials service is pathetic and not hygienic if they are not cooked full. I paid for the meal and left without even an apology. I doubt the cook is qualified I dread to think of the cleanliness of the kitchen.#Dont waste your time or money and spoil your mood here!!!!!!! Hubby and I loved Pirates arm we used to go here at least once a month they had a good fish n chips and the burgers were great as well. The service was great. But this year life been so busy only went back now. Looking for that great fish n chips again. To get there placed has changed not sure is new ownership or new management but we went in sat down. Took them at least 10 minutes to acknowledge us. Ordered drinks and that took about 10 minutes to come. In the mean time there is this blearing music and and people dancing more like dirty dancing. The drinks finally come and mine was the wrong drink. Ordered ordered our meal and waited and waited and it looked like the chefs were dancing as well. Well 45 minutes later still no food. Asked for the manager and he was outside smoking and dancing. Looked at us and walked the other way. So we paid for drinks and left. The need to decide if they running a tavern or a restaurant. TERRIBLE APPALLING WILL...

Such a horrible experience, the one star was only for the fish and chips which were the saving grace, the waiter got my order wrong and then insists twice, it was prawns, when we said calamari, then walks away( with no apology) in a huff and brings me 6 calamari rings and chips for R115( I honestly dont think that's a fair charge) to add insult to injury, the calamari was not even prepared well, they were quite rubbery. The waiters and waitresses were moving tables around and setting them for the next day at 2pm on a Sunday, while there were still a lot of customers in the restaurant. Overall a terrible experience, and a suggestion to management, please take the time to retrain your staff on how to handle customer complaints...especially if the fault lies with the...
