Casadena Spur — Restaurant in KwaZulu-Natal

EDIT : Thank you for inviting us back to evaluate your service. We where pleasantly surprised, food came quick and was better than experience listed below. However we will be coming back when we are not expected to test the service. We had constant check-ins if all was ok, staff & kitchen was on par.

Very dissapointing experience. We went to Casadena because of the play area and us having a under 3 year old. Just to realise that it is only the play area upstairs with no seating. We dont risk having our toddler play where we cant keep an eye on him at all times. That being said it was the 2nd closest to home & was chosen because it had a play area, which we didnt end up using anyway. The TV that is suppose to let you view the play area is cracked/damaged.

2ndly we ordered the toddlers food even before our drinks as kids get hangry and wanted him fed before he gets to the point. We waited 40min for his food to arrived. 5min before his food came the waiter came to our table first time after getting our drinks to say the burger is on its way. His burger & our side order of onion rings arrived together and 5min later our real deal bkfst came. Very dissapointing service

We asked for the bill, and waited a while before deciding to go pay at the front desk waiter rushed to help us pay.

The 5 min before and 10 min after our food arrived 3 people came past to ask if everything is ok. Ontop of that we over heard other tables complain and another couldnt destinguish the waiters from patrons as no one had uniforms on only badges.

I'm currently heavily pregnant and about to pop and decided what better way to celebrate my last few days of being pregnant with family and a delicious spur meal.

From when we walked in and were seated we were impressed. The place was buzzing with patrons and everyone was happy. I went with my dad, hubby and 4 year old son.

Our drinks were served promptly. Halfway through our starter I decided I now want to go outside so when we get our food we can let our toddler feed the fishies. Well the fantastic manager had already thought ahead for us and brought my son an entire bowl of bread to feed them with. He absolutely loved it. We had the most lovely waitress too and the best manager I've seen by far . It was a Wednesday night and the level of service and attentiveness was excellent. 2 friends and i went for breakfast on Sunday morning. We were each going to have the "Unreal Breakfast" @ R39.90ea, but when the waitron told us that the "Top-up Breakfast" included Coffee (R20.90) and 2 pork sausages in addition (R20.90), all for R66-odd, it was a better deal. The food was unreal, the service was excellent and the turnaround was good considering how busy they were at 9.30am.
