Heavenly Pancake House — Restaurant in Eastern Cape

Unfortunately I had to delete my previous reviews on this business,as the foo and service is not constant. We went to the Pancake house, twice this week. 1st time we only ordered milkshake, which was "heavenly" Yesterday was a bad experience, through and through. Mý salted caramel milkshake was jùst that... tasted like sàlted shaked milk. I could actually tàste the milk. It was salty, yes, but nòt salted caramel. About nò ice-cream. Gave the 2nd half to my husband to taste and he agreed. I ordered a toasted chicken-mayo, served with chips. What a disaster!!My toast tasted as if the toaster has old, used oil on it(struggled to get rid thàt horrible taste, for the rest of the afternoon)Nò taste of any mayo, just smeared mushy sòmething on the toast. The chips...hard, hard, hard and unappetizing. Tried to save it with some tomato sauce, but that was an even bìgger mistake. The clearly òver used "KOO" labeled bottle,did not have KOO tomato sauce in it.(I know, because that's the only tomato sauce we buy)Only funny tasting crap. Then the salt and pepper🤦‍♀️. Left outside on the table!!The grinders are done, so if you twist it, only the whole salt crystals fall all over. Some of the table are weathered, yet:1) They stìll don't provide place mats, to at least cover the dusty looking area the plates are put. 2)Salt and Pepper stìll left outside. 3)Today's waiters had a "smile and get the job done" attitude. Not friendly at all and something that never changed, is that you struggle to get attention and wait too long to be served. 4)Stìll only get the thin paper "serviettes" wrapped around the cutlery. I have to ask for it, each and èvery time. I don't want to hear about different chefs on duty. There should be a guideline in place for all of them to follow and where is the quality control, regarding the food and condiments. Where is the manager, that's supposed to oversee thìs? I told the cashier about my experience. If she was the manager, she didn't do a great job, as she was dumbstruck when I told her about all. If she was not the manager, just as bad, as she should've offered to get the manager to sort it out. Either way, I won't be back again soon.... To the owner /manager: I'm not open to discussion on regarding this review. Nothing càn change the experience I had. I dòn't wànt want to be reimbursed, or have a free meal. The food was already great the day that I was there. But the service was a little bit slow, especially considering that the place was generally quiet that day (I was the only table whom haven't had food yet, and there was only 2 other tables being served) and I only ordered chips, but it still took them about 15min to prepare and bring the chips. And it was really confusing as it seemed as if no one, not even management, really knew what they were doing. The waiter who served me already printed my bill before asking me if I was going to order anything else, which I deem very unprofessional, as I also worked as a waiter years ago, and I was taught that you ask the table if they needed anything else and only print and bring the bill if they asked you to, even if it is your time to knock off... I ordered a Health Roll, which normally would be a wholewheat brown roll, instead received a White Dry ends Sesame seed Roll, this is not a health Roll. Went back today hoping for a better food experience. Ordered Brown bread toasted Bacon and Egg sandwich. Requested a soft egg, got a hard fried egg. The waitress, then ordered a soft egg for me, got the soft egg, but it was drenched in oil. The bread was over buttered so the toasted sandwich was very greasy. We then ordered some sweet pancakes, they were cold and dry inside, we were crunching at the sugar inside. Bad experience definitely. What is happening to the food quality at Heavenly Pancake establishment? I have always raved about the place to friends that visit Gonubie and South Africa. I cannot rate my experience today, as I'm disappointed. Would I go back only if the quality of food improved. Let's hope the Management investigate this further...
