. Am in Durban for work and Simply Asia is in the area. Ordered a few day’s ago using Uber eats. The sushi was good but the packaging was terrible. Went in for a dine in meal the next night. Food was good but the service was non existent. Nobody checked to see if my meal was satisfactory. Waited 30min post meal before someone came to my table. As I was sitting outside I contemplated walk out without paying. Have just had a very strange experience with my dine in tonight. Ordered sushi as I know it’s good. Was sitting at my table outside again. The Simply Asia phone was on my table, it was ringing and was answered at my table ( it is cordless and could have been moved from my table). The person who answered the phone kept it on speaker phone. The person on the other line could not hear the Simply Asia employee, she had to repeat herself many times. A short while after the phone call ended I was asked to swipe my card as the employee believed the transaction would not go through. I asked what the problem could be and was told it was network, by chance I had just done a speed test on my phone and signal was great. The transaction did not go through. I was asked to go to Checkers to draw cash. I cancelled my order went to Panarottis two shops down, ordered a pizza and paid on a FNB speed point no problem. Your service is non existent. I contacted Simply Asia morningside (as I usually do) at 3:39 pm to place an order which I was told by the lady taking my order would be ready in 20 minutes. I arrived at simply Asia at 4:20pm to be told my order was not done at all because they didn’t have Tom Yum soup today. Do nothing was done. They didn’t have stock of most of everything apparently ( so I was informed). I asked her the lady at the counter why she never contacted me to ask if I wanted to substitute any items she said she didn’t know she needed to do that. I called for the manager who was apparently outside the restaurant. The lady who took my order started gossiping in Zulu not realizing that I understand Zulu . She told the manager that she forgot to call me. The manager seemed totally unbothered about losing a customer.
This branch of simply Asia has lost the plot. The previous store manager was so hands on and ensured smooth service. Will not be visiting this...
Read moreI ordered the 572 Pad Thai Lemongrass (Ramen bowl) via Uber eats. When the food arrived and i opened the lid, a rancid smell filled the room. The beef was off. The meal that arrived did not have the lemongrass, fresh basil or ginger described on the menu. It was old beef with onions in a brown, beef water. no vegetables, no basil etc. Completely nauseating. I had to throw the entire meal into the bin. I reported it on Ubereats and all of a sudden this dish is now showing as 'sold out' on uber eats.
