Visited on a Friday midday. Was quiet busy, but we were seated and attended to promptly. The take away patrons formed a small line at the store, adding to its popularity. We opted for the junior T bone steak and chips, and a quarter lamb bunny, which they are apparently famous for.We had to. (Would you go to Nandos and order just the veg?๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿคฃ ) Ok so the steak, juicy, tender flame grilled and basted with a light bbq basting sauce. Accompanied by grilled mixed peppers, and crispy chips, it was really good ๐Ÿ‘. Then.. the bunny. I believe this to be the quintessential "durban bunny" . A spicy curry, loaded with lamb, bursting with flavours of cumin, cinnamon, tumeric and cloves. Encasing the curry was a slab of fresh white bread, that gorged itself on the curry and took on the gravy and flavor of the curry with ease. Really good! Prices are reasonable ๐Ÿ‘ Fully Halaal. Recommended ๐Ÿ™Œ

I will never purchase anything from this Oriental restaurant in Cowey Road again purchased sugar bean curry and rotis wonโ€™t even feed the rotis to an animal shocking state Rotis were torn and so hard definitely not fresh This is not the first time The attitude and level of service is also shocking They think they are doing you a favor, they forget that we the customer keep their doors open and contribute towards their salaries, as Orientals does not have there own bank weโ€™re they print money to pay their staff salaries We the customer pay with our hard earned money and then get served bad food. See attached photo. I was promised a phone call ICW this issue 3 days later and still waiting no one has contacted me. Just shows how much they care about their customers.

I once visited The Oriental back when it was at The Workshop - I always tell everyone who will listen, that they had served the best Bunny Chow I had ever tasted. Now that it's at Galleria Mall, we tried the mixed platter for dinner which was absolutely delicious. We loved it so much, the second time we ate here, we ordered mutton biryani for lunch. Be prepared to wait for a long time for your food though! It gets really busy and it's easy to understand why. Definitely a must try more than once! Also halaal.

Service was absolutely pathetic food was not the way it used to be,I called in and placed the order only to get there we Wer completely neglected the order over the phone wasnt taken down so we went there sitting an waiting my husband spoke to someone,so I still waited I got up only to find out that No1 actually took the order and had to place it again and repay,so paid for it cos I know right everyone deserves and chance, waited a while and then see that people that came through after us Where actually getting served and receiving their food before us so I got up I went to check and a lady by the name of Nadia the worst customer service I ever saw instead of apologizing says to me here's Ur food here anyway the food was served to us,there Wer a family with kids Infront of us together with a couple in the side of us,Nadia probably went to them about 4 or 5 times to check if they are ok if they need anything to pack their goodie bags to take home but not once came to us it was definitely based on tips in this place and which customer pays more those Wer the customers she was assisted completely ignored us or acknowledge us,however there was a guy who helped us and Wen leaving I gave him a tip and said thank you for your help,he was the only one who was most helpful and wasn't looking for a tip of money, however that Nadia lady is bad news she judges people or is racist or sees only to her culture of people I will never recommend anyone to go there they serve breyani without even a spoon to eat not Wetwipes or taps or anything of that sort to rinse or wash Ur hands I had to dish the food for my girls with my hands, pathetic customer service,if yourl don't know how to run a restaurant then learn customer service or close it down,it's sad that such a well respected place that I've known for so many years is been let down by your staff...very disappointed in this service and will never go here again and I will tell everyone about the pathetic...

Another one of my favourite restaurants in Durban for a good mutton bunny or a roti and kebab!!! Situated in the Workshop Mall for more than three decades this eatery's success is keeping us loyal customers coming back for more as the consistency of their flavorful meals is above average. One can order takeaways, dine in the al-fresco styled cafe, service moderate, staff attitude is a bit off when attempting to get WiFi password or linger longer in their dining room with service, I had to really look for my waiter. The menu is based on an Indian theme and has a variety of seafood and grill dishes, on two occasions I was not impressed with their seafood grills and the cubed chicken breasts grilled on a mixed grill platter was not precision cut for that exuberant presentation, chef's finesse, of one of their largest meals on the menu, the taste of their mutton bunny is so good otherwise won't be worth my trip. The dessert menu is very basic accompanied with a standard tea and coffee listing. An absolute must when visiting Durban, to capture the taste that stood the...
