We have been going to @The Bistro for a few years now and the decline in service is unsettling. The restaurant was quite empty for breakfast this morning and when we walked in and greeted the waitron staff not one greeted back as they all stood by the till and stared at us. The waitress we had barely spoke two words and her attitude was disgusting, the servers have no etiquette and when they eventually do come to clear the table they lean over other people eating instead of asking for the plates they want to take. The manager walks up and down and doesn’t have the curtesy to greet or ask how it’s going, probably because he is aware of the bad service their staff are giving. Our food was average and definitely nothing near the standard this restaurant held a few years ago. We loved the dirty looks we received from the waitresses on the way out as we said...

What a gem. A beautiful bistro that offers such a variety of meals. I ordered pancakes today....expected to get two small pieces....wow......I got a surprise. I had to put my hand next to it so you could see how big they were. I wish I could capture the sound in the bistro. It was so happy and I wished that I could bottle that sound. Different languages, different races all mixed together to make a beautiful experience. I have been to alot of restaurants and it's normally always loud etc ...this Bistro made me feel like family was all around me, the laughing, the sound of happiness in everyone's tone was just so different. Staff is amazing, food quality was amazing.....and the owners....well.... they are amazing too. They have clearly looked after their staff and appreciated their staff as they all looked happy. I will be...

I was really excited to see a cafe/bistro with such a contemporary style open so close to home.

We decided to stop by for an early morning meeting/breakfast. We parked in the off-street parking behind the shop and were ushered to a table overlooking the parking - We discovered that there are also booths and more tables in the front on our way out. There were only about 3 other tables occupied with all of them seated in the same area, with the rest of the restaurant being empty.

We ordered coffee followed by breakfast. The food presentation (for breakfasts) is boring at best and my plate looked pretty empty, that being said it was tasty except the chewy halloumi. The staff are friendly and the service wasn't bad even though we did wait a bit for our order.

I'll more than likely go back to see if having a lunch/dinner...

A well oiled machine. Went for breakfast after our parkrun. Very welcoming and has attractive modern decor. It wasn’t long before patrons poured in. Locals clearly know this is the spot. Management are hands on, and keep the show on the road. Our food was well presented, and tasty, also good value for money. Wife simply loved her Low Carb (under Gourmet Breakfast) with an extra egg. I had the Mega. It was slightly cold, having stood in the kitchen. I guessed, as our waitress was absorbed in meeting the demands of other tables, so much so that management delivered our meal. Other than that, this place rocks, and is clearly the place to go in the ‘East’. I wouldn’t hesitate to give them another visit.

This is one of those places that always has good food and good service. Even the cakes are pretty good. I frequent the boksburg branch more often, and happened to come past here this time round. My mom ordered the fillet steak and veg. I had the Beef Trinchado and Riblets, and my sis took the meatballs and blue cheese. To round it off we shared a slice of German recipe style carrot cake. The cake was nice but i am never fond of cakes with all the dried fruit on top. I asked about the Vanilla sponge and Amarula cake - that was gooood
