The staff are lovely, there are 2 gentlemen who always make my coffee the best. There is a shorter cashier who is friendly & seems to remember everyone it’s starting to feel like the coffee shop that’s a home away from home.

They have milk variations, syrups but need to add in sugars free syrups.

They allow you to film for IG. The owners seem friendly, I went on a busy Friday morning, the owners want to see customers get served quickly but it’s a balance cos if you want good coffee it doesn’t need to be a fast food coffee.

I tried the cheesecake it’s good (not the best by fresh & tastes like your usual cheesecake)

I think more people need to be shown how to use the app for loyalty points.

Very clean, very neat, the R25 coffee before 8am is great I think before 9am would also be amazing cos I know my clients bring me a coffee on their way to me at 9am...

Lamb and Mushroom Pie: 10/10

At first glance the price made me a bit wary - how can a pie cost that much?

ABSOLUTELY WORTH EVERY CENT!

Unlike most pies that are filled with gravy and potatoes, Bootlegger's version is what we all look for in a wholesome piece of pastry. Every single bite filled my mouth with delicious and slow cooked chunks of succulent lamb - unlike the piece of dough you buy on the go where the protein has emigrated, leaving behind only shreds. A beautiful recommendation from the beautiful Innocentia who divulged that the pies are made in house...I was sold.

As a regular patron of the Halaal Bootlegger chain and having frequented the Cape Town outlet many times, I am glad to see that the branch close to home keeps up with standards. My only wish is for the full menu to become available soon.

Honestly, Bootleggers is one of the most welcoming coffee shops I’ve ever been to. The vibe is super chill and warm — like the kind of place you can go to on your worst day and somehow leave feeling better. The staff are all great, but I have to give a huge shoutout to Sabrina.

She is honestly one of the kindest, most genuine people I’ve ever met. Every time I go in, she greets me like an old friend. She always remembers my order, takes time to chat, and just has this way of making everyone feel seen and appreciated. You can tell she really cares, and that kind of energy makes such a difference.

If you’re ever near a Bootleggers, go. And if you’re lucky enough to be served by Sabrina, even better. She’s the heart...
