Café Plus — Restaurant in Gauteng

I was at this super little establishment today, following a week of unrest and looting in KZN and Gauteng, many folk have been too scared to visit Malls and Shopping Centres, so smaller restaurants have taken quite a knock. We are also facing another cold front, so it has been quite nippy out. Cafe Plus was quite busy tody, in fact whilst I was there, observing Covid-19 protocols, especially insofar as only utilising 50% of available floorspace, it looked like they were at capacity! Having to keep fresh air flowing to minimise the threat of infection, they still managed to keep customers warm with large heaters strategically placed and a cheerful atmosphere, which one picks up immediately when greeted by a happy faced waitron which is evident even through the face masks... true smiles are seen in all areas of the face!.. This was seen on the faces of all the staff I encountered, who are friendly, helpful and efficient! They have quite a range on the menu, catering to all manner of tastes and good value for money. I had one of their bright, nicely presented and appetising breakfasts, hitting the spot perfectly - which I am fairly certain are available throughout the day... (I may have to update that - a good excuse to have to go back!). I've previously had a couple of their wide range of daily fresh bakes, which were scrumptious! We recently had lunch at Cafe Plus, a spot that has been going since about 2015. Simple, modern decor with seating inside and outside at the Green Valley Center.

The owner Andreas has been in the food industry for as long as we can remember and we've had the pleasure of eating at most of his eateries including this one. They have a limited menu with a variety of cakes on offer which catches your eye as you enter.

I decided on a Beef Burger with Cheese and Jalapeno. My mom had the Prego fillet Steak roll, and my sis had the Salmon breakfast called "The Poach"

Everything was delicious, tasty and full of flavour. The Chips were HUGE and perfectly fried and spiced. My homemade beef patty was amazing, and the relish with Jalapeno and Cheese was the perfect combination along with some Prego sauce. My sisters Salmon and Poached eggs were good too and a really great portion size. Mom loved her steak roll and couldn't help praising them for the good quality if food presented.
