SERVICE (Service was great,always checked on and made sure that we were happy with everything,staff is friendly and very welcoming)

ATMOSPHERE (Great vibe to the restaurant,music was great and overall the packed restaurant says it for itself)

RESTAURANT (Love the xmas decor they put up,restaurant is very clean and also all the goodies they sell at the entrance is really great)

SOFT SHELL TACO - BUTTERMILK CHICKEN,KIMCHI,JAPANESE MAYO AND SRIRACHA (Seasoned perfectly,chicken was cooked to perfection and crispy,kimchi had a great flavour to it and the mayo and sriracha just brought more vibrance to the dish)

SOFT SHELL TACO - BEEF TATAKI,HONEY,SOY AND WASABI DRESSING,AVO AND EDAMAME SMASH AND CRISPY ONION (The beef just melts in your mouth,bursting with flavour and seasoned to perfection,my favourite taco on the menu by far)

BRUSCHETTA - HERBED CREAM CHEESE,ZUCCHINI,FENNEL AND CAPERS (Really great,the cream cheese cuts through the saltiness of the Capers,the fennel tho was non existent in terms of flavour even tho It was on the plate )

BRUSCHETTA - PRAWN,AVOCADO AND SPICY MAYO (Delicous,had a really great flavour with the mayo and the avo gave it the much needed creaminess)

BRUSCHETTA - SUNDRIED TOMATO,PESTO,ARTICHOKE AND HIERLOOM TOMATO (Great flavour but everything else overpowered the sundried tomaoto so couldnt taste it)

LEO LEONE PIZZA - BACON,CHORIZO,MUSHROOM,GREEN PEPPER,ONION AND CHILLI (Crispy base,great flavour and cooked perfectly)

BLUE CAJUN PIZZA - CAJUN GRILLED CHICKEN,RED ONION,MUSHROOM,GORGONZOLA AND BASIL (Blue cheese gives this pizza the much needed creamy bitter taste from the sweetness of the other ingredients, really great overall)

TERIYAKI SALMON - ASIAN GRILLED NORWEIGIAN SALMON,BLACK RICE AND WARM GREENS (My favourite out of the whole menu,ordered my salmon medium raw and replaced the black rice with parmesan mash,salmon just melts in your mouth,skin was crispy and the teriyaki sauce just boosted the dishes flavour even more,the warm greens were also great,perfeclty seasoned and cooked to perfection)

CIVICHE (this was a great start,from the seasoning to all the ingredients included,great taste and just the right amount of acidity)

CHICKEN LIVERS (livers were cooked perfectly and creamy as it could be,only con would be seasoning wasnt there)

OXTAIL AND SHORTRIB (the moment it hit the table you could just smell all the spices coming through,the oxtail and shortrib melts in your mouth and the mash was smooth and creamy,cons would be under seasoned as it was a real shame,just abit more salt all around could have made it a great dish)

GNOCCHI (really great dish,from the gnocchi itself to the sauce and other components,unfortunately it was borderline bland but after adding salt it was great)

A Delicious Pasta combined with Excellent Service from Nkosi at Doppio Zero Bassonia:

My fiance and I recently had the pleasure of trying the Pollo Al Forno at Doppio Zero, and I must say, it was a game-changer! The dish was expertly crafted, with a perfect balance of creamy sauce, sundried tomatoes, mushrooms, garlic, basil, perfectly cooked pasta, and savory flavors.

The chicken and fettucini was cooked to perfection, with a delightful firmness that paired beautifully with the rich and creamy sauce. The mozzarela bake capping was delightful.

What truly set this dish apart, however, was the addition of a few clever twists.

Overall, I would highly recommend the Pollo al Forno at Doppio to anyone looking for a delicious and authentic Italian pasta experience. Be sure to arrive hungry, as the portion sizes are generous, and you won't want to leave a single strand of pasta behind!

Service from Nkosi was excellent, he was attentive, accomodating and helpful with the selection of our meal and my juice portion size which I initially was not too happy about. Thank you Nkosi

Absolutely special experience. We visited for Mother's Day 2023 and enjoyed a fabulous few hours of family time! The restaurant was extremely full with guests but our food came so quickly with great attention to the details of our order. Our waitress, Privilege, was exceptional in attending to every request and was always available to assist. The range on the menu is incredible and the quality of each meal is to be commended. We indulged in a range of vegetarian dishes, all of which were truly special - garlic foccachia, salad, soup, wood-fired pizza, fries and pasta. The bakery is then on an entirely different universe - simply delectable flavours, all made with distinctive wholesome ingredients. Definitely worth trying any dessert to finish a joyful experience. Hearty winter menu options!! It was a chilly night and we really fancied a hearty delicious meal, and Doppio Zero certainly delivered! Their winter menu has particular dish that was just AMAZING.. the Beef short rib and oxtail with mash… highly recommended. It’s on the pricy size but it’s worth it and there was enough to have some to take home for Lunch the next day. The atmosphere was great and it was warm inside and the service was spectacular, thank you to Themba, an exceptional waiter.

I visited Doppio Zero on Sunday. Food was good, staff were friendly and helpful. I had the Salmon Teriyaki, it was tasty, the sauce was super yummy. I asked for seared Salmon, but it was grilled for too long, so quite over cooked. Told my waiter and it was very well handled. I couldn't resist trying their Berry Panna Cotta, super light and not too sweet. Overall, it was a great experience, will definitely be back.

I visited Doppio Zero on Sunday. Food was good, staff were friendly and helpful. I had the Salmon Teriyaki, it was tasty, the sauce was super yummy. I asked for seared Salmon, but it was grilled for too long, so quite over cooked. Told my waiter and it was very well handled. I couldn't resist trying their Berry Panna Cotta, super light and not too sweet. Overall, it was a great experience, will definitely be back.
