This hateful, racist slur was hurled at us in a public space—a space where we should have felt safe and respected.What’s even more disheartening is the response from the co-owner, Lara Oelofse, who, instead of addressing the matter appropriately, asked me to remain silent “for the sake of peace.” This response not only invalidated the gravity of the incident but also sent a message that peace should come at the cost of enduring blatant racism.This is unacceptable. I ordered a breakfast and specifically said that I do not eat bacon, and would like mushrooms instead. I am prepared to pay the normal prices for this breafast thereof. Again mixed in the mushroom are pieces of bacon.
The previous time the manager that attended to this complaint was very apologetic and I did not post a complaint. However, this morning the manager was quite casual about this, and tried finger pointing to the waiter. I find his behaviour unacceptable, he is supervising over them and should have accepted accountability.
