Prairie Hawk Spur — Restaurant in Gauteng

I was served by a waitress named Busisiwe yesterday evening. When we came in the restaurant she opened the door but didn't bother to ask table for for how many, and I was the one who had to tell her that we need a table for six since my husband was going to join us.

At that point I could tell that just because I was the only adult with 4 kids, she just judged me.

She didn't show any interest when sitting us down, she just kept on pointing at tables and I found myself having to ask which one exactly.

When it was time to take the orders she took forever to return to the table. My husband finally arrived, she saw him but we had to wait about 15 minutes before she returned to the table and even so we had to ask her if we could order my husband's drink. Now I am wondering isn't she supposed to ask a joining guest if they need anything to drink...

I felt like she was rushing to attend a much more important table cause every time she came to the table she would be rushing off without having to hear what we had to say.

I am writing this so that she can improve on...

I am extremely disappointed with the service and the changes made here. The atmosphere was unfriendly and not welcoming at all.

In the past, children were always given safety door tags so that if they ran out, an alarm would notify staff. Tonight, none of my three children received tags. Because of this, my youngest child (3 years old) ran straight out the door into the parking lot, and no staff member even noticed or cared. This is a huge safety concern for families.

On top of that, the new waiter system does not work well. One waiter seats you, another takes your order, another brings the food, and then someone else takes the payment. It feels very disconnected and impersonal compared to before, when one waiter would look after your table from start to finish.

Overall, the lack of safety measures and poor service has left me very unhappy, and I will not...

My experience at Prairie Hawk was great. The lady serving us was really patient with us and really great with her recommendation on what we could eat/drink. And the food that I ate was fantastic and was well made. You could feel the love in it.

Not sure but when we decided to eat in, the atmosphere was a bit quiet due to the time of day and day of the week. But was an overall great due to the music in the background and the legendary birthday song for the birthday boys/girls alike.

I would say the only complaint about this place is that the food somewhat took long to arrive according to the friends that tagging along, but I would say it was worth the wait considering the great quality of the food.

I will definitely be coming...
