I was there on a Sunday. The restaurant is situated in a park. The park is dog friendly, good for picnics and families. The restaurant had a good atmosphere and relaxed background music. The food is reasonably priced. I ordered the ox tongue served with mash, butternut, spinach and a mustard sauce. The food was good, especially all the mash, spinach and butternut. The mustard sauce was horrible. It tasted inedible, like it’s not meant to be consumed with food. The service was bad. I was barely checked on and whenever I’d ask for water, I’d only receive it after a long time cause they kept forgetting. I was sitting under a gazebo outside but got a little burnt from the sun cause no one could move the gazebo for me, since they barely checked on me.
I would go again. Only because of the location. The atmosphere and the beauty of the park is what I’d really go back for. The food was okay, I wouldn’t mind eating else on the menu. But the service really needs to improve. My waitress’ name was Joyce. She needs to be trained. She...
Read moreIt was great to connect with 'Ol Huck again after several years. Enjoyed the same excellent service, dishing out a variety of dishes in the rustic, but quaint venue in a very nice sort of way. The warm glow of the wood fire was highly welcome on a nippy winter morning, and a full bar service is available if one is so inclined. Love the decor in the cosy interior, with the pieces chosen in very good taste. A spacious function room is available for celebrations. Outdoor seating under the huge willow and other trees creates a very relaxed atmosphere, bringing one even closer to the natural serenity of Magnolia Dell Park, and the little stream that runs through it, right up against Huckleberry's restaurant. And the Intiem Love Bridge is the 'cherry on top'. Great photo opportunities in the pristine park, with playground equipment for kids. A very pleasant dining experience, and could become habit-forming, especially if one has...
Read moreThey open at 07:30. We got there just after that wanting something warm on a cold Monday morning. We weren't disappointed, they welcomed us and sat us by an open wood fire and friendly smiles and a chat. We had the croissants with scrambled eggs, crispy bacon and my boss having the most sliced cherry tomatoes I've seen on a plate ever. Her choice of juice being cranberry, while I had a delicious latte. I don't normally drink coffee when I'm out because it's normally too strong, this was perfect. The park surrounding the building felt like a quiet oasis in the city centre. I'll definitely go back and relax instead of being there for a quick breakfast meeting before going to work. Thanks...
