Joe's Grill & Pizzeria — Restaurant in Gauteng

We are SUPER impressed with this new and refreshing restaurant on the Benoni Golf course!! It has a getaway holiday feel, is laid back and relaxing with a modern design. The waiters and staff members all make us feel so welcome and are knowledgable about everything on the menu. The pizza at this place is to DIE FOR!!!! I cannot remember the exact name of the pizza we had twice now (Bellaresia??, blue cheese, salami, olives, sun dried tomatoes, onion,mozarella and avo) BUT I have never in my life had such an explosion of flavors in my mouth - and I really do not like pizza, but this pizza is all I think about now. We had Ice cold draft beers, amazing cappucinos and their breakfast menu is delicious. They offer delicious complimentary cheese straws and cheese sauce to start with....All we can say is WOW!!! I have been wanting to go here for a while now and finally got the chance yesterday after seeing the chicken specials online. I am so sad that it was such a disappointing visit. The service was below average and the food was ok. the schnitzel was good and so were the veggies, even though undercooked. The half chicken was horrible. It was so overpowered by weird spices and was killed to the point where the wing and the leg were black and could not even be eaten. When showing the manager we got "oh sorry" and that was it. Went for the lunch special after seeing the sign for a while now. It was my 1st visit. The prawn lunch special is excellent value, great flavour, excellent chips. The T bone and rump steak on the other hand needs a better grill master. It was more rare than the med rare we ordered. Also the size is a bit misleading in my opinion.
