It's hard to recall when last we had such a bad overall experience in a restaurant. This is by no means a fine dining restaurant but there as still certain basic elements that should be in place, no matter what. Firstly I was handed a menu with a wine list. When I wanted to order something the waitress curtly told me that they do not have a liquor license. Why have a wine list then? Then we ordered some fizzy soft drinks listed as 330ml on the menu. We both received 300ml cans. But, the main problem was that my companion's food arrived a full 35 minutes after I received mine (which was cold) and I had actually finished mine by the time his arrived. When I finished my food I had to go inside (we sat outside on the balcony) to enquire about the missing meal. When I complained about this I was told that they had to defrost the calamari in a manner which suggested that I was totally unreasonable thinking that we might have wanted to eat at the same time. I had long finished my food before my son's food arrived. To add insult to injury I was made to sit with all the used, dirty dishes, glasses and cans in front of me and they were still there, even...
Read moreKung Fu Kitchen is a favourite take away restaurant in our family and same goes for most friends. The variety is astonishing and the food is always fresh and delicious. Definitely not one of those urban legends where they sell cat and dog meat. The portions are really big and two average sized people can easily share one meal without even finishing the dish. Fresh sushi is also made right before your eyes so you can have a proper look at the freshness of the fish. The staff have a very rudimentary knowledge of English but the menu is designed to sort this out. Sometimes a local employee is available. Also look out for other Chinese products on display. Remember those chips that stick and suck on your tongue - pink, blue, yellow ax green? A variety of teas and spices etc. as well as free advice to customers are simply amazing. The shop is almost always busy but orders just fly out the window - confirmation that ingredients are fresh. Please put up photos of the people in the kitchen and also their names and designations. Best value for money! And no, I don't hold shares in...
Read moreAn unpleasant experience with this Kung Fu Kitchen. Atterbury Value Mart’s Kung Fu Kitchen does a far better job with their food.
We had order a Kung-Fu Platter Salmon only and come to find out they gave us A Lunch Box platter.
We reorder the Kung Fu Platter Salmon ONLY and they give us tuna and prawn with our sushi nigiri. I called and asked about it and the lady responded with “you did not say Salmon only”. Any time I order sushi, I state salmon only as it is what I’ve learnt over the years through my family ordering.
The platter was not fresh at all. It tasted like salmon that sat out for a day or 2.
Lastly the next day we fell ill.
It was a waste of money and we will never be visiting this Kung Fu...
