I am currently seated at the restaurant. We arrived an hour ago at 12pm. My wife ordered a tea, only to be told that it is not available. In fact out of the wide variety of tea's on your menu, only 4 were available today. But that's okay, we understand. We ordered our food, Brioche French Toast and Salmon Eggs Benedict. The food did not take long to arrive it was within 10-15 minutes. However both dishes arrived and they were cold. The flavors were average and the capsicum hollandaise sauce was extremely underwhelming. By the time I had started on my 2nd muffin it was ice cold. I asked for water and the waiter completely forgot. He came to ask how the meal was and only after I reminded him about the water did he bring it. All the while, him and another wait on were chilling by the bar having a lovely chat. Trying to signal him to bring the bill was a massive fail, the two were so deep in conversation that they looked at me twice while I was waiving politely and just carried on chatting. The only time we got his attention again was when he walked past our table to seat other customers. I started typing this review before we asked for the bill. It has only just arrived and we are still waiting for a card machine to pay.

The food was underwhelming. The service was non existent. Terribly disappointing as this was the first time we have eaten at a Life Grand Cafe of any kind. Suffice to say, we will...

I was there for the Mogodu Monday special, the food was great , you get a complimentary plate of African food. My waiter was quick and very patient, her name is Faith. Loved her service, she took our drinks order, made sure our stay is very comfortable. Moved our table, and she is very friendly. I give her 10/10, had a minor issue with the table reservations but the manager gave us complimentary shots and apologized for the misunderstanding. He even sang happy birthday to my friend. The drinks are very affordable, their prices shocked me, when the bill came I was so surprised it was very low and we had ordered beer and ciders and a few shots. This is now my favourite place will definitely be visiting again.

Areas of improvement: they should really do something nice for people who are celebrating their birthdays there, even if it's a complimentary plate of dessert and have a few waiters sing for them to make their day special. The tables take long to be cleared in the early hours of the evening as it is a bit busy. The toilet needs more attention, in terms of cleaning and people traffic. They should keep ash trays on the table for the outdoor area , it being a smoking area , you shouldn't have to ask for an ash tray from your waiter when you need to smoke.

Overall I loved the ambiance, not too crowded, affordable, clean and the music is great. It's a...

Terrible experience. Our reservation was not noted. Our waiters service was terrible, unfriendly, inefficient. He left us for ages without taking the orders. My friends tonic spilled when she opened the can, as if it had been shaken. The waiter claimed that the suger free tonic usually does that and refused to cancel the second gin shot she had ordered, despite not having brought it to the table yet. We were celebrating a birthday and took a birthday cake. The waiter left the cake in the sun on the table for a while after I requested him to keep it in a cool place. When he was asked to bring out the cake I expected it would be opened and brought out like done in all other restaurants. He just brought the cake back in the box, as I had given it to him, no knife, side plates. 3 poke bowls were ordered. The extra sides for the poke bowls were just placed on 1 plate and brought to the table. 1 extra side was chicken and was mixed with the sides ordered by a pescatarian. The edamame was omitted from all the poke bowls. When it was requested we were given a small portion in 1 bowl, that hardly seemed like enough for 3 poke bowls. Overall a very...

The place is very nice and chilled. It does get a bit full though so if you are a person who does not mind crowded places and some noise then it's your vibe. In addition the place has music with djs so you will find it more vibrant in the evening. The food is very good and I loved the plating as well, also had some sushi and it was devine...on the alcohol menu you do have a variety of choices, they also have a bar so you will be spoiled for choice in that department. I loved the fact that the resteurant is near a woolies food shop which closes before 7pm. Be mindful that there are 2 restrooms in the resteurant...1 male and 1 female which tends to be crowded as the evening progresses. However I was notified that there are other restrooms outside the resteurant belonging to the complex so those are alternative toilets should you be desperately pressed...but that was the downside for me...2 toilets in a big resteurant didn't make sense. Dress code: Not formal at all, be yourself i guess. We were there from 2pm till 9pm so with good company you might just stay there the whole day 😉

We went in for dinner on Friday evening. We had not made a reservation and were worried about not getting a seat, but when we arrived at 5 p.m., there were plenty of open tables available. I ordered lamb chops as my main meal. I was not disappointed because the portion sizes were generous. The lamb was flavored such that the gamey flavor came through. The lamb was served with roasted veggies and baby potatoes. The butternut was a standout in the vegetable medley. For dessert, I had tiramisu. It reminded me of jaffa cakes, strangely. Overall, the dessert was decent. Overall, the food was delicious and I had no complaints. The staff members were extremely attentive and professional. I'll definitely be back!
