I had the pleasure of dining at New India Restaurant, and it was an experience to remember! This newly opened gem has set a high standard for Indian cuisine in South Africa.
Under the guidance of their talented chef Yugander, he has an amazing experience in UAE and step in to the South Africa as game changer of culinary experience and every dish was a perfect blend of authentic Indian flavors and taste. The chicken curry of country style, Chicken 65, Prawns fry was tender and perfectly spiced, while the lamb rogan josh melted in the mouth with its rich, aromatic gravy. The freshly prepared naan and fragrant basmati rice were the ideal complements to the meal.
The ambiance was warm and inviting, with beautiful decor that added to the overall experience. The staff were exceptional—welcoming, attentive, and eager to share their knowledge of the menu.
New India Restaurant is a must-visit for anyone looking to explore the rich and diverse flavors of Indian cuisine. Whether you’re a local or just visiting South Africa, this place promises an unforgettable dining experience. I can’t wait to return and try more dishes from their amazing menu by...
Read moreUtterly shocked by the service of this place.
We ordered butter chicken on Mr.D, which is supposed to come with rice, but we got no rice with our delivery. We phoned the restaurant to tell them and ask them to please send the rice. We live 5min from the restaurant and paid R500 for the meal - we were'nt going to drive to them after paying a delivery fee and a tip to the driver when the problem was on their side so we didn't think it would be much of a problem for them to deliver the rest of the food.
The guy we spoke to said he would phone us back once he spoke to the kitchen. Obviously, he never phoned back, so 10min later we phoned again to ask whether they'll be delivering the rice.
This was when it escalated because the guy on the other end started shouting at us, saying we have an attitude for asking them to deliver the rice and screaming at my husband over the phone. We were so shocked that someone would actually talk to a customer the way he did, and this after, we paid him R500 for cold food that we only received half of.
We definitely won't be going back there or ordering from them again or suggesting this restaurant to any of...
Read moreWe went in for lunch this Sunday. The restaurant is within a shopping complex so there is sufficient parking.
The restaurant was very quite and we were seated immediately.
Upon seating, we were provided with table snacks while we read the menu. This was served with 2 chutneys.
For my main I had the chicken Malabar. This was noted as the chefs speciality at the restaurant. I was asked on the level of spice in must be prepared in and I said hot. This was flavourful and not to spicy at all. The portion size was generous. The meal comes with rice but I chose to have it with Rogani Naan as an extra.
The service was good and we were satisfied. The waitor was friendly. The atmosphere was mediocre. They did have soft music playing in the background which was nice.
The tables could have been a kept a bit neater as the was spills and some burnt table clothes but the food made up for it. Furthermore the restaurant is on the entainertainer and it's buy one get one free for the curries (at the time of writing the review).
I would return to try other options and hope the...
